This is startling,you want to know how pissed the west is at eastern Canada then click hereand tell me after reading the many links that us westerners arent pissed off. I'm not into the American integration thing as much as some but they are our biggest trading partner and neighbor. If Canada does seperate it will be people like you and the liberals policies that make it happen. 
Vote Conservative, OR ELSE, eh? Classy move, that one.
That's why it's so important that the Conservatives get their heads out of their a***s. They need to be seen as a viable alternative amongst people who aren't nasty, angry white guys wishing to go back to 1953. Unfortunately, Harper's latest move will not help.
Maybe you could show how we will go back to 1953? Vote for whoever you want but please vote for someone that will represent you and not a party just because your scared of the "devil we dont know". The future of Canada depends on us. We can save it or we can wreck it.

It isn't a question of free votes or not. It's a question of why on Earth is Harper choosing to revive this issue during a campaign?

I actually agree with you re gay marriage, however I believe the Liberals rammed the Bill through in a typical politically correct vote grabbing mood.
I think Harper may have hit on a good thing, actually telling people his doesn’t agree with something a lot of people really don’t like, and that is gay marriage. I personally don’t think that society will collapse just because to guys get married. I also don’t believe it degrades my own marriage in anyway.
But I do think MP’s should be given the opportunity to have a “free vote” on the matter. I think democracy is sadly lacking on the Hill and it’s time we cut through all the PC crap and voted for what we actually believe in.
PS I think gay marriage is fine, Go for it!

Yep, heaven forfend we have a strong minded politician with something akin to a backbone in this country. I sure do hope Harper start pandering to whatever crowd of slack jawed gits he's speaking to so he can start winning votes.
Oops, sorry 'heaven' may be misconstrued as akin to supporting a Judeo-Christian faith, I meant to say 'non denominational place of bliss, delight and peace eternal forfend'. Whew, dodged a bullet there...
