Game #1 of the AJHL semi-finals went last night with a bit of an upset.

The fourth seed Camrose Kodiaks defeated the national #1 ranked Spruce Grove Saints 3-1 in Spruce Grove.

In the second semi-final, the Okotoks Oilers defeated the Ft. Mac Oil Barons 5-3 in Okotoks

Game two of both series goes tonight.

QBC @ Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:36 pm

Me thinks the AJHL semi-finals are going to be a thing of beauty. In a complete reversal of Saturday nights games, both series are tied at one win a piece.

In Spruce Grove, the Saints bounced back by handing the Kodiaks a loss by the exact same score as they had beaten the Saints by last night, 3-1

In Okotoks, the Oil Barons rebounded from their game one loss by defeating the Oilers 4-3 in overtime.

Both series tied at 1-1....Game On!!!

QBC @ Wed Mar 24, 2010 5:09 pm

Game#3 in both series were played last night in the AJHL.......

Spruce Grove defeated the Camrose Kodiaks, third time this series the score has been the same... 3-1...the Saints now lead that series 2-1

Ft Mac continues to roll along in the post season. After being down 3-1 after 40 minutes to Okotoks, the Oil Barons score 4 unanswered goals to take the game 5-3. Ft Mac now leads that series 2-1.

The Enerflex Cup final series could very well be an all North Division affair after last nights two semi final games. Both North Division teams took 3-1 leads in their respective series over their South Division rivals.

It looks as thought the #1 Canadian ranked team, the Spruce Grove Saints, have finally put their foot on the gas as they handed the Camrose Kodiaks a very lopsided defeat. Final score last night....7-0

In the other series, Ft Mac won their third straight over Okotoks and take a commanding lead in the series. Final score Oil Barons 3...Oilers 1

Both series resume tomorrow night in Spruce Grove and Okotoks respectively.

The AJHL final series has been determined.
The Enerflex cup will be competed for by two North Division teams as both South Division teams were eliminated in five games.

Tonight in Spruce Grove, the Saints dispatched the Camrose Kodiaks by a score of 4-1.

In Okotoks, the Ft Mac. Oil Barons finished off the Oilers by a score of 5-2.

The final battle for AJHL supremacy is about to begin!!!

Oh!

Should be a good series, but would have been better with the Storms eh!

As for the Remparts, the LHJMQ post season started later than the Alberta league one. The Remparts won their series vs Acadie-Bathurst.

Oh Pimp, it sure as hell would have been a lot better if our boys were about to face the Saints. Rosie and I actually picked up next years season tickets for the Storm yesterday...

Yeah, all the leagues of the CJHL across Canada start their playoffs before the CHL does. They have an extra step before they play for the RBC Cup, the nation junior championship. After they finish up in their own province, they narrow the field by having a two province series before the national tournament. The winner of the AJHL plays the winner of the BCJHL, Sask plays Manitoba and so on down the line with the series winners going to compete for the RBC Cup. (Not too sure how it works with all the leagues in Ontario) Last year the Storm played the Vernon Vipers from BC, for the Doyle Cup, (They seem to have a cup for everything..) with Vernon going on. Vernon also eventually won the RBC Cup last year.

Good on your Ramparts Pimp!!!!

Looks as though your boys are going to have to face Chicoutimi in the next round. (If I read the tree correctly anyway) I wish your boys, and their fans.. , the very best of luck. Keep us updated on their progress Pimp!!!

To be honest man, not sure how every other system or league go. Like I said, sure would have been fun to see the Storm going, since you seem so passionate about it, that would have been cool.

As for the Remparts, I should go to see them play in the series. It's always some good hockey.

It will be fun to see who goes all the way to the Memorial Cup. There is a lot of good competition out there, should be fun.

So apparently Victoriaville is leading the series. That's like BS man.

Game three was played in Ft Mac last night.
The Spruce Grove Saints out shot the Oil Barons 39-21 in a game that really seemed to never be in doubt. All of the Saints goals were scored at even strength too as they went 0-5 on the power play. Although it sounded like the Oil Barons never gave up, they didn't seem to have any answers for the Saints play last night.

Final score.....

Game four goes tonight in Ft. Mac. We'll see if Ft Mac can answer back after the loss, like they have all through the playoffs this year, or has Spruce Grove put the pedal down trying to finish this series in 5.

The winner of this series takes on the winner of the BCJHL finals,. Either the Powell River Kings, or the Vernon Vipers. Powell River leads that series 2-1 right now.

Holy Crap do we have a final series in the AJHL!!!

Well, looks like it was the Oil Barons who found an answer to the Saints play from last night. Tonight, the Oil Baron out shot the Saints 35-30, neither team could score on the power play as all the goals were at equal strength. The Oil Barons just keep finding ways to stay in these playoffs!

Final Score.......

The series is tied at 2-2, next game Friday night back in Spruce Grove

QBC @ Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:43 pm

The AJHL Final Series is simply amazing!!

Game 5 was back in Spruce Grove.
Shots on goal...37 for the Oil Barons, 36 for the Saints
Looking at the box score, they went back and forth all game long.
One would lead, the other would tie and then take the lead, then tied up again.
Spruce Grove made it 6-5 with just over 5 minutes left in the game
then added an empty net goal with 33 seconds on the clock.
How I wish I could have been at that game!

Final score.....

Game 6 is back in Ft. Mac on Sunday!!!
