Sitting here... watching Canada ladies play Italy on an HDTV channel... Can't get Canadian coverage. Canadian ladies are handling Italy quite well, 7 - 0 ... no 8 -0.... no 9 - 0 so far... this is going to be a high scoring game

Looks like a good warm-up practice for Canada. Those gals really do deserve the Silver.

Hope the Canadian guys get some better competition.

Can't wait to see the American ladies play!

very sad. i feel kinda sorry for italy. their first matchup shouldn't be such an embarrasment. they are still trying though, so good on them. :)

I applaud our women's hockey team and they are great but sorry to say it's getting a tad boring with just US/Canada final games.

It's "getting" boring??

Womens' sports ARE boring by definition.

If the female players were any good, they would already be in the mens' leagues. Fact is that they're not - and that's why nobody bothers watching them.

For somebody that doesn't watch women's hockey you sure think you know what you are talking about. Actually womens hockey in north america is pretty damn good and you should be proud that your women can compete with the Canadian team.
Here's my pick for mvp, local homegirl, Meghan Agosta.

It is actually quite amusing that whenever italy got the puck for longer then 2 seconds, the whole place would cheer. Kinda sad

U.S. women shut out Swiss in Olympic opener
Captain Wendell scores twice as Americans beat Switzerland 6-0

Watch Out Canada.... the Americans are coming!

IkeaMan @ Sat Feb 11, 2006 10:54 pm

let's see how the Americans play against the Italians....the score won't be as high as the Canadian game.....the Swiss held the Americans pretty well!

The only team that is any kind of threat to Team Canada is the US. I give the edge to Canada, good mix of experience and youth. Awesome goalies and , well, Hailey........

one word - NO!!

Watching the Canada/ Russia game this morning, Canada just looks awesome. So far 7-0 Canada in the first period. The Canadian 4th line, the so called "Kid Line", they're better than most of the other teams top lines. Agosta, just turned 19 today, has two goals so far in this game, talk about happy birthday....... PDT_Armataz_01_37

Is Canada really playing their fourth string?

I guess you could say that the Canadian Women are Kicking Ass! ha ha...

Now watch out... the American Women don't need a high score - just enough to win. They might be letting Canada underestimate them.... hmmm..

canucker @ Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:21 am

Team Canada trounces Russia

Well... was just clicking around on the NBC Olympics site, and thoght I'd click on the video images from the U.S womens hockey win over Switzerland.

What I got was "This NBC Olympics.Com video may not be viewed in your country"
8O

Now I'm sure Team Canada or any other teams will have their own scouts at the games..but to prevent viewing of highlights of an oylmpic evnt .what the $$%%^^
