A condition like being black, asian, or having 3 nips. A condition one CAN infact be proud of and not have to feel like a POS. Contrary to your belitting belief one CAN infact desire understand and acceptance.

If a genetic trait of someone is being ridiculed and turned into a "disease" then there is obivously something there that needs to be changed. And believe it or not, its not the homosexual trait. Its the one that those in society have against a predisposition.

Its like screening someone for blue eyes, or blonde hair, or curly hair. These traits or not genetic abormalities, thus "screening them out" doesnt many any sense. It is your own dogma that is at issue here, not other peoples sexuality.

Its a very simply practice. Do not corrolate homosexuality with a disease and people wont label you an intolerant bigot.

I don't think being gay is genetic, and it isn't a desiese either. I don't think it can be passed down. It is probably as you first start developing, something goes differently then it normally does.

   

I have no idea one way or the other. I could care less either way. I would just expect acceptance in society to the degree that just becuase someone is different, that does not mean they are bad or are hurting society.

People are who they are. Being gay is just another one of those things. There is absolutely no credible evidence that being gay makes someone more prone to being a liablity on society, or that it is a disorder.

So why people treat it that way, is not something I will understand or ever agree with.

They really should teach that Alan Turing was gay, since it is germaine. Alan Turing, as well as being one of the great minds of the twentieth century, cracked the German Enigma machine in WWII, which was instrumental in the Allied victory. In 1952 he confessed to "acts of gross indecency" since being gay was a crime in England at the time.

The punishment was either jail or "chemical castration." He chose the oestrogen injections and subsequently grew breasts. The conviction forced him to lose his security clearance and his job. He committed suicide in 1954.

The gay community -parts of it anyway- have been arguing that their lifestyle is not just something to be tolerated, but something to be celebrated.

But why celebrate something that is just a happenstance of genetics? If it's purely genetic, it's nothing any of them was responsible for.
