They are - most Law Faculties receive far more applicants each year than they could possibly educate.
I think the Faculty of Law at the UofA here accepts only 5-10% of the total number of applicants it gets every year. I believe they get around 200 new students every year (so about 600 students or so total) - compared to the 30000+ total attending the UofA.

Looks as Lawyers could breed like wild hogs! Do we need an eradication program or is birth control going to keep them in check?
