I am part of a minority group, yet I have no problem adapting. Do you really think I want to celebrate the different fests we had in Holland, AND want the country Canada to fund it? I should have stayed in Holland if I wanted that. Everything in Canada is different. I have to learn and adapt. And I do. And so should every immigrant, no matter what their skin colour, religion or primary language is.
Really, what is so hard about understanding that Canada has its own culture, and what is so hard about trying to be a part of that, and not desperately want to keep your own? Most immigrants come here out of free will. That means they should have done some research. What ever you want to do in your own home is your own choice, but outside, you make sure you speak English, you read the newspaper, get yourself used to Canadian habits.
Multi culti is BS, it is an easy way out. Multi culti is pampering, and kissing ass. Be proud of your nation, and all the people in it. Don't let the pride slip away. Make sure your immigrants are proud of their new country. Don't make the same mistakes Europe made.

They sure do. Reasonable Accommodation is a hot topic right now. Like previously said, how far does this have to go ? We cannot let everyone in the immigrant community dictate their own ways. We, as Canadians, need to preserve our values.

Quebec Liberals want newcomers to the province to sign a 'moral commitment’

MONTREAL - The Quebec Liberals are proposing to make immigrants to the province sign a so-called moral commitment to Quebec values.
Party officials told a news conference in Montreal today that such values include secularism and a French-speaking culture.
The suggestion is among five key recommendations the party is to make on Monday to a government commission looking at the accommodation of minorities.
The party is also proposing to increase immigration levels and guarantee gender equality.
Party president Marc-Andre Blanchard criticized the official Opposition Action democratique du Quebec for not presenting its own recommendations to the commission.
The Bouchard-Taylor commission wraps up its hearings in Montreal this month before delivering a final report next spring.
