Good point, nothing more needs to be said.

It's no where near the same situation.

Lets compare,as migrants our forefathers came ashore and assimilated the natives, much like what is happening now.

Would native culture be different if we migrants never came?
I live in a coal mining town so everyone here is from the old country, first(and only)place in Canada to elect a communist as an mp. These people brought all there customs, traditions and beliefs with them but still leaned more towards becoming a Canadian and fitting in.Now it's like there is no such thing as Canadian culture and we as Canucks have to accept what traditions are brought here and forced to become this multi-culture society that everyone thinks we should be.

Multiculturism in Canada.

My thoughts on my Canada.
Canadians, what are they? They are the people that are in the two graveyards our house was in between.I used to wander them as a kid marveling at all the old forgotten wooden crosses, lots said private first class or some other rank, lots of names are Russian, these people came to Canada for a better life, lived and died in the mines or the two wars, settled this country, fought for it,died for it and what it stood for. They are the backbone of the blue collar working class that made Canada what it is today and the same people that have issues with the take my religion or get sued mentality it seems some immigrants have lately.

Couple more posts like this and I'll have to put an NDP thingy by my avatar.

Ridiculous. Our Traditions and our Culture has been changing constantly. Native>French/English>European/American>?? The constant to what is Canadian is Law and Order and Good Government.

We do control Immigration.

Canada controls skilled worker immigration, not the family class immigration.

And those are the ones (not only in Canada, but in other countries as well) that do not integrate. As long as places like China Town and Little Italy exist, and new immigrants are going to live there, multiculturalism is BS. These places are ghetto's.

For a "ghetto" it's website shows a different picture. I've never been there so have no idea but judging from their website I would be very interested in seeing the area.

http://www.vancouverchinatown.ca/

and it's a historic Canadian site protected as such
hadn't realized the federal or provincial governments protected "ghettos"
