The USA is the most powerful army in the World, and, with no doubt, they ould easely take a big part of the World if they want it.

They kick the ass of the Japanese in 1942.

BUT

They americans lost war in their history.
- 1812
- Vietnam
- And, if it continu to go so badly, their gonna lost Irak

In 1812: The goal: Invade and take Canada.
Mission: Echec (but they draw with the britains.)

The Vietnam: The Goal, the north wasn't suppose to become Communist.
Mission: Echec (and the biggest Echec of their history. However, the americans makes a lot of scandal, 'cause they kill so many civils.)

The Americans are really powerfull, but they are not invincible.

Aside from being an interesting piece of trivia, the war of 1812 means absolutely nothing to today's society.

PLEASE STOP USING THIS AS AN ARGUMENT!!!!

Why do Canadians insist they "won" the War of 1812?

And for the people who insist how did you win?

All offensive attacks made by the US failed, but the war as a whole was basically a stalemate.

Why was the war of 1812 started? Were those objectives accomplisehd? If not it was a failure. Failure equals loss.

The point of the War of 1812 is that America sent ten armies across the boarder, and all 10 got their asses handed to them by British stationed in Canada or by First Nation corps or, on a smaller note, Canadian Millita.

And Hwacker, don't flame the guy because he's a French-Canadian who doesn't speak much english. He's obviously French and it's hardly his fault.

WLDB @ Tue Jun 21, 2005 9:12 pm

1812 like Vietnam was an Imperialistic American war. Both of which were lost. I say the yanks lost 1812 because they failed in their goal to capture the colonies. It was supposed to be a "mere matter of marching".

The British won because their army was the most powerful army at the time. It had just beaten Napoleon. I say they won because they beat the yanks and kept the colonies.

I suppose you could call it a draw as neither side gained anything. Its like it never happened.

The Hoser @ Tue Jun 21, 2005 9:14 pm

It's like it never happened because America got served by Canada and how good would that look with all the Canadian Army bashing going on. eh?

WLDB @ Tue Jun 21, 2005 9:16 pm

What Canadian army? Sure we had a militia at the time but thats it. It was British generals and British troops which did most of the fighting. Although the Natives were the deciding factor in most engagements of the war.

I said the Canadian Millita and the British stationed in Canada along with the First Nations fighting corps, I don't think Canada should take credit for the invasion and burning of Washington etc, just driving them out of our country.
