PeterFinn PeterFinn:
Why limit what people can earn and achieve? I always am amazed at the envy of the "rich" as no one has ever been employed by a poor guy.

Stop worrying about what someone else earns and pay more attention to your own business and either be content with what you have or strive to earn more.

I used to work for US$9.00 per hour and yesterday (after a lot of hard work and years of college and effort) the job I now have gave me a US$20,000 per year raise.

I've never begrudged a 'rich' person the money they earned or even inherited. I paid more attention to my place in the world and I've worked my ass off to improve that place and it is paying off.

And come September I'll be staying at the Empress in Victoria instead of the Strathcona and making Canada a little richer before I leave.

Envy is a sin and there is good reason for that. Communism is envy run amok and 100 million people died because of it.

Become a millionaire and I'll toast your success. :P

Limit what they achieve? you may say that if you wish, but giving to the government for the betterment of the whole country is what I think is best. Some cll it communism and say millions of people died over it. They are right. Millions of people died because of communism. But thats because dictators were at the reigns of communism. This is only partly communism, semi-scocialist. If we keep the government the whole enchalada would be called a semi-scocialist democracy. with a democracy, we can chosse who would be incharge of how all the extra cash is spent. So it wouldn't go to waste.

Anything I earn, I want as much control over it as possible (control to spend, give to charity, etc). People in the poverty level would agree. If poor people were rich, they'd agree.

If everyone was rich, they'd agree. how much money do people honestly need though?

Chances are he's a philanthropist. Even if he's not- why can't you be happy for him? Let him live his life.

who said I wasn't letting him live his life? he's already got a billion dollars, and all those cars houses and boats, what more does he need? Have him send the rest to his country so his fellow people can reap the rewards of his "hard work" in an office.

Although some folks who were rich had to work their asses off to get their money, those folks are usually very humble and already give most of their cash to charity. Bill Gates for instance. Some time ago he gave 22 billion dollars in one swing.

Yeah, so let them decide what to with their own money. They can give it to charity if they want or set up a fund, or they can go buy an island. It's their money.

no it isn't, but its the same situation, or it should be. got a whole bunch of not so rich folks, with no cake, and you the rich person, with all the cake. The government, also known as your parents, make you share the money, also knownm as cake, to the whole crownd of not so rich folk, the country.
