What I dislike about capitoilism is that the rich, lazy folks get richer, and the poor, hard working folks get poorer. And then in america they shaft the poor folk by raising taxes on them, while they lower taxes for the rich! At least in canada its the middle class getting the shaft. Seriously, there are sooooo many loopholes for the rich to get out of paying taxes, I'd never be able to list them all.

I think the best way to go everywhere is to get rid of taxes for people making 30 000 or less. then have the same tax deductions as it is now for the rest of the work force, accept for 35 000 -45 000, take it down a few more percentage points. And no one can ever get more than 100 000 a year. If you make 200 000 a year, 100 000 will go to taxes, the rest will be yours. If you make a million or more, chances are that you work behind a desk all day and don't deserve the money, so you to will only get 100 000 q year and the other 900 000 will go to the government. way more money to spend on things like medi-care, education, and military. Might even be able to get rid of GST and PST. Also get rid of the insurance companies. You should be able to get insurance as a tax return if you get into a car accident, or get severly injured. Because I don't feeel like spending 20 000 on a vehicle, then spnding another 250 bucks a month on insurance aswell as car payments.

Also, make the tax cuts even larger for families with 3 children or more, but don't encourage population growth. With this sort of system our economies would survive even if the baby boomers begin to retire.

   

Just make a flat tax. Then everyone will be taxed equally and equality is what we're all about.

   

you'd still have the rich taking over after awhile. why do you think we have corruption? rich people think they can use their money to influence their government because they are rich. Eliminate the rich, or the need, or the wanting to be rich, and you get rid of most of the corruption.

   

I would love this. The problem is, as it usually is with Canadian politics, we live next door to the good ol' U.S. Of A. If we were to impliment such a plan, all the rich people would just head down there and we'd be fucked.

   

Actually, I think Bush would find it a good plan because it would bring him out of dept after awhile. The trick is to convince the world.

   

I believe the Flat Tax is the most dangerous tax to implement. The poor would get barried with taxes and the rich would be untouched. How can a person with moral dignity say its ok to have the rich taxed the same amount as the poor. It is the wealthiest citizens' job in society to pick up and help their less privaleged countrymen. The rich need the poor. Its the governments role to keep a balance in line.

   

Ah, but isn't that communism? Also, if all humans are created equal, then they should be taxed equally.

   

cause some get shafted by the others. And communism isn't a bad thing. the extreams that the russians and chinies took it to is bad, but not the way i'm suggesting. Its part communist, part capitolist. So people can make as much money as they want, up to a point. My step father makes approximatly 80 000 a year, its more than enough for us to be able to own a boat, two cars, a 2 1/2 acre property with a $250 000 house on it, aswell as several pets, including horses.

If 100 000 isn't enough, I don't know what is. If its so you can buy an expesive car, put part your money into a separate account.

   

I dont understand. Communism is a complete opposite. Simply because distribution of wealth is equal in communism. Flat tax means the rich will still make a massive amount more. So its apples and oranges friend.

   

In my system the distrobution of wealth is almost equal. You would have to work for it though.

   

I am sorry, but I could never vote for your plan. It completely goes against the idea of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Imagine limiting $100,000 income to some family who wants to send their four children to Harvard.

   

Imagine not letting a parentless child to not be able to attend a university?

   

the government would have enough money to pay for harvard. the kids wouldn't need money to go. except maby a thousand dollar charge for janatorial soap. You'd have to apply to get the government to let you in though.. The people with the best marks would get to go.

   

I'm begining to think that starting this topic was a good idea after all. After you guys come up with all the things that could go wrong, I can send the revised copy of the idea into my MP. maby something will change in a few years...
