Why should you respect or tolerate an ideology that encourages its followers to destroy your culture, your institutions, and everything you've worked for in life?

That would be Christianity my pretentious friend. :D

Christianity is Western Civilization. It has done more preserving than destroying.

You wouldn't be here without it.

Actually I would be, and the reason why I say that Christianity is a religion that encourages its followers to destroy another culture, its institutions, and everything they worked for in life, is because Christianity went(and still does, ever heard of the Jehovah's Witnesses and new age missionaries?) all over the world telling people that their beliefs are wrong and that they must come to the light of the Christian God. Who is sometimes seen as a trinity; The father, the son, and the holy spirit. The 'peaceful" religion of Christianity destroyed my culture, killed most of its citizens, destroyed its institutions, and destroyed everything they worked for in life, all in the name of God. This was a direct result of the Christian idealogy that their god is the one true god, so before ya know it, my ancestors are fighting Christians because my ancestors felt that their culture and religion was fine the way it was. And it was actually, The Incas were living pretty darn well until the Christians showed up preaching their usual spiels about God. This was all on my dads side of the family.

Now lets go to my Moms side of the family shall we? Okay, here we go...

Pagans living in France and England(my ancestors) were hunted down by the Christians because they did not believe in the one true God. Before ya know it, their culture, institutions and everything else they had worked for was gone. And ya know what? It wasn't by the hand of Islam. My Indian relatives in India were spared any cultural destruction. You know why? Islam didn't walk into India saying Accept our religion or we kill you and persecute you all. They conquered it but left the culture intact. Some Moghul rulers of India openly embraced India's culture and institutions. Before ya know it, you have Muslim communities across northern India and a rich preserved culture with a bit of Islamic infusion, not a complete change like the Christians did everywhere else in the world.

I am not saying that all Christians are bad(unlike gideon who seems to think that Islam and Muslims need to be destroyed.), but that their actions, both past and present, makes me laugh at anyone who says that Islam is out to destroy everything the world has worked for.

Put the Bong down, it’s clouding your mind to the point you’re spewing Christian hatred.

For your little rant, please tell me what other Religion has a more advanced society in this world. ?

Go ahead name all of them, then ask yourself where they place in the totem pole of the world. (Donny should like that one)

Here's a news flash for you: while Christians were burning witches in Europe, Muslims were advancing their society in the Middle East and Northern Africa, not to mention southern Spain. In Cordoba, Spain, Christianity and Islam lived side by side with alomst no problems.

And how has Christianity advanced society for that matter? The Enlightenment got started because a few people started trying to figure things out without saying "God did it". Virtually every advancement the Western World enjoys is due to the abscence of religion in invention.

Actually, you wouldn't be here. Without Christianity, history would've been drastically different and if history changes in the slightest, that means you would never come to be.

Like it or not, without Christianity you wouldn't be here.

Without Christianity, the Barbarians of Western Europe would have never united and the nation states that make up modern day Europe would have never formed.

Everyone would still be here. Religion has no way of determining who is born at what point in time. You'd still be here, but you'd just be different. And without Christianity, maybe the Incas would've been able to show the world whatb they were capable of. :D

Nope, none of us would've been here without Christianity. The entire Western Hemisphere was swept over with Western Civilization.

So Germany united because of Christianity? France and Italy as well? Don't bullshit me. Westron European nations came about becuase of a number of reasons, one main one being nationalism and the idea of self-determination.

Without the Merovians and Carolingians uniting under Christianity, the Treaty of Verdun would never have occured.

Maybe you shouldn't try to "bullshit" hoping no one knows that you don't know anything.

Perhaps we should narrow our focus in the historical timeline. I am thinking about the modern nation-state which started emerging after the French Revolution. You appear be a bit before that era.

Oh, so you're saying history shaped itself in the present and made the past?

Not at all. I'm saying you're basing your statements on the topic at hand in a particular era while I am basing mine on another era.
