Ok, with all the talk about Israel "planning" a nuclear strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, what are the chances that Iran will launch a preemptive strike against Israel? What are your thoughts?

JustKate @ Sun Jan 07, 2007 11:05 pm

I voted No. Just because I believe arabs try to look innocent in war but provoke the rest of us in to it.

camerontech @ Sun Jan 07, 2007 11:31 pm

No. not right now, but I think that Iran could possibly get to that stage which is scary enough. Hopefully this will all blow over soon, but it just seems that right now things are escalating to the point where something will be done

[huh]

So the Iranian government funding Hezbollah and supplying arms during the Israel-Lebanese conflict wouldn't be considered as first strike?

"As Hezbollah escalated its guerrilla attacks on Israeli targets in southern Lebanon, its military aid from Iran increased" source...

I Looooooove how the question is put completely black and white...

A Black and white answer ...They shouldn't and I hope not but of course should retaliate if it happens and if Israel is stupid enough to lay first strike then Israel should be nuked by the US or whoever has nukes ." ViceVersa"

Chumley @ Mon Jan 08, 2007 1:47 am

Do you mean a preemptive non nuclear strike or preemptive nuclear strike?

Well said. I think its time Canada is neutral in all this conflict once again and stay out of other peoples problems. Since, 9 11, many Canadians were kidnapped during Iraq/Afghanistan however they were usually freed within a few days after just because they were Canadian. The Muslim nations are aware of the fact that Canadian people are totally different from USA and have their own personal views on things. But the way it seems on these forums, I think Bush will transfer over from USA and become our Prime Minister for a while.

Sry, had to say that.

whoops, I didn't answer the question. I believe Iran is the capabilities to defend itself if there is a strike but I am not sure of the strength Iranian people posses. If this turns out to be nuclear strikes against Iran then you can all bet that this will be the start of World War 3. <-- extreme view, I know but considering the circumstances today, Its not hard to see.

Rihx @ Mon Jan 08, 2007 7:34 am

The answer to that question is YES and They all ready have! Hezbolah is an Iranian funded and trained organization that is constantly attacking Isrealy citizens in a vain attempt at provoking them into war...

provoking them into war...

I dont want to turn this into a Who owns whos land but I believe it was Israel that attacked Hezbollah first. I am sorry, maybe I was living under a rock but last time I checked, if one is attacked, they have the right to defend themselves. Yes they kidnapped 2 soldiers from the army, which is nothing compared to abductions of thousands of Palestinians that never seen home again.

You forget the close to 1000 rocket attacks on isrealy cities over the year prior to the kidnaping of the soldiers

Wrong. Hezbollah kidnapped the soldiers during a period of reduced tension between Israel and the Palestinians, therefore provoking the conflict.

Those brave warriors of Islam also rained basically unguided missiles onto populated areas in much the same way Hitler used the V1's against London's civilian population.

Radical Islam takes many lessons in terror from the Nazi's.

Another apologist for Mulsim murder.

By the way, this was debated at length in the summer of 2006. Hezbollah was still a bunch of murdering cowards then. Unless of course you were a Bloc leader or a jolly Liberal where they were seen as freedom fighters against the nasty Jews.

Or is it ok for any Muslims to commit acts of terror in you're eyes?

Proculation @ Mon Jan 08, 2007 8:46 am

The answer is no.
What would Iran gain by attacking Israel, except annihilation ?
That's just non-sense.

Israel attacking specific installations in Iran like they did in Irak back in the 80's is much more plausible.
