Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, is facing calls to be stripped of her military titles, after failing to wear a Remembrance Day poppy for the second day in a row.
The duchess angered war veterans by removing the plastic flower - worn as a mark of respect to all the British soldiers who died in battle ahead of a memorial day on November 11 - during the first day of her tour of Pakistan with husband Prince Charles on Monday...
Royal aides have now admitted that there are no plans for Camilla - the Royal Colonel of the 4th Battalion The Rifles and Commodore-in-Chief of Royal Naval medical services - to wear the poppy for the reminder of the tour.
British war veterans are said to be "disgusted" by the decision.

So fucking what? Wear a damn poppy! Sure, foreign clothes are fun and all(Memories of India and numerous culture festivals), but damn it, wear a poppy. Not too much to ask for people who saw some of the worst shit on the face of the earth. Hell, I know some Fresh off the boat immigrants who are wearing one out of respect.
They also enjoyed Halloween!

As for the wearing of poppies, I think Camilla's excuse is very lame. How can a poppy interfer with your clothes? I'm always proud to wear mine although when i'm in uniform I have to wear it behind my capbadge as is military regs.

I think that Camilla should not have a millitary title because of Marrage nor Charles and Elizebeth have military titles because of birth. Rank should be earned either by promotion or election.

I have no idea what she's referring to, but depending on what you're wearing, the pin from the poppy can snag or poke holes in certain materials, or just plain keep sliding out.
Of course, one can always choose to wear something else... unless there was a reason she had to go with the original outfit.
I don't know. I just think it's a shame as there are enough kids and adults who don't show any respect for our veterans as it is without having public figures showing what not to do.

I agree with you in respect to Charles but it's a bit different with the Queen as she is the top of the food chain so to speak and is the one who gives our officers their commissions. I don't believe she actually holds any military titles anymore but I may be wrong and at least she doesn't parade around with medals she hasn't earned unlike her son.

What do you mean?
I mean that Prince Charles as the Commander in Chief of several Regiments and Corps is allowed to wear the medals that they have earned in operations even though he has never served in the forces. He also can wear their dress uniforms, picking and choosing which one he wants to wear.
