Yesterday a British extremist cleric was sentence to jail for inciting hatred/violence..

To say that demonstrators are free to incite violence in Britain is just false. The police may have been reluctant to try to arrest someone during a large protest because they didn't want to escalate the tension at the time. But rest assured they took lots of pictures and probably video recorded it for later prosecutions.....

You might also note that many British Islamic organizations/groups called for arrest of the violent protestors.....

I bet someone could rustle up 1000 people in North America who think that doctors who perform abortions should die and bus them to one city......If a TV camera showed a 1000 people with signs saying death to baby-killers would you think that most North Americans have that view?

   

So they arrest two folks doing a counter demonstration....I guess they felt safer taking on the smaller group...... and don't count on any action being taken on account of video or pictures taken there. From everything I have read the once mighty British justice system has gone bonkers "pensioner can be charged with "racially aggravated criminal damage" for scrawling "free speech for England" on a condemned wall. "



No one had to rustle these folks up and bus them anywhere.

   

I don't know anything about that, or how it's related to this issue



I don't know about this case but usually they do.

In Lebanon the President condemned the violent protests and blame outside forces (Syria) for bringing in foreigners to destablize the country...

Sort of how most of the terrorists in Iraq are from other countries....

I heard an estimate by a U.S. general that there were something like 5,000 hard insurgents in Iraq, mostly from other countries......

So if every Muslim and non-Muslim country recruits as many Terrorists they can, but only 5,000 show up in Iraq what does that tell you about the % of Muslims who are extremists?

   

With the muslims I'm far more interested in the percentage of them who:

Renounce the violent suppression of all aother faiths as called for in the koran.

Unconditionally renounce terrorism.

Unconditionally accept the right of Jewish people to live and to live in peace.

When living in non-muslim countries that they abide by the laws and culture of the nation they live in even if the laws and culture contravene sharia.

They recognize the rights of non-muslim people to worship as they see fit, to speak as they see fit, to vote as they see fit, to live as they see fit.

Whaddaya think?

People who support violent protest but stayed home.....Medium-Small Number

People who hated the cartoons but don't support violence.....Medium Number

People who are against violence but not vocal..............Medium-Small Number
People who are against violence and are vocal..............Small Number
People who dedicate their lives to being vocally against violence.....Very Small Number


It's a spectrum....I agree that it would be good to see more highly vocal Muslims who stronly condemn violence....

I would also like to see the media show more of the Muslims who speak out against violence.....They prefer to show rioters for some reason....

You obviously don't pay very much attention. I turned several interviews with local Muslim leaders on the radio today, and they make it very clear that any form of violence and destruction is against Islamic beliefs.

   

You think people need to apologize for following a religion.

Exodus 22:20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

Psalms 79:6: Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name

Pluggy, I think our friend is under the impression that apologist refers to Muslims who should apologise for being Muslim.

   

So do I. In my book a person who says all Muslims are terrorists is the same as a person who says all jews are [insert derogatory word here]......

And if a person is a Muslim who hates jews? You think their defining characteristic is their religion, but I think their defining characteristic is that they hate jews......
