I am... that's why I said it was a crime againts human rights...

Constantinople @ Wed Jun 08, 2005 10:36 pm

How you worded it makes you seem like you were all for it. Might want to reread it if it's important to ya.

The Hoser @ Wed Jun 08, 2005 11:45 pm

Then let me reword it, although I can't see what makes me pro-anti human rights.

Still, wether Iraq was better off pre or post Saddam, the torture and criminal acts that the prisoners of Abu Gharib experianced is a crime againts Human rights, a disgusting violation of the "freedom" America was supposed to be delivering to Iraq.

Clear enough?

You have other problems bigger than this human rights thingy if you can't even understand what you wrote.

The Hoser @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:14 am

Erm... Care to explain it too me?

What's there to explain? You want me dead. Why would I explain anything to you you POS.

The Hoser @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:21 am

How does calling Abu Gharib againts human rights make ME anti-human rights?

Constantinople @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:23 am

But you still can't argue that what the Iraqi people experianced at Abu Gharib was a crime againts Human rights.

READ THIS AGAIN.

The Hoser @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:25 am

There is no argument, what the people in Abu Gharib experianced was wrong.

At the time, we were arguing about the Iraqi peasent thing, and I was just saying that, wether Iraq was better with Bush or Saddam, the people of Abu Gharib need not have suffered.

Constantinople @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:29 am

I give up. You don't even realize what you wrote in that one sentence that I keep on posting. Maybe other readers who come along will laugh at you.

"uninformed middle eastern peasant" That is rather eliteist of you if not outright bigoted.

And about the mayor or whoever the hell he is, he gets to go home to his family. Tell that to Nick Bergs family. JUst in case you forgot he got his head cut off on tape.

Scape @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 11:54 am

How many Nick Berg's does it take to excuse Abu Ghraib, or Afghanistan or Gitmo?
Nick losing his head is tragic, but systematic abuse is far far worse. Trying to pass of Pvt England as a bad apple isn't cutting it. This is a major problem that is systemic in nature.

Example:

$1:
Haji: "In English, or in army usage it has the exact same meaning or connotation as 'gook' or 'charlie' or 'nigger.' it's very very prevalent in the military. only on a handful of occasions did i every hear iraqis referred to as iraqis. The rest of the time it was haji this and haji that...and all of this contributed to an atmosphere that brutalizes civilians and ultimately brutalized the prisoners that we had under our thumb at Abu Ghraib."

Now if you take a tank of gas, pour it all over the floor and then give a 3 year old matches and walk away you did not create the fire directly but in a court of law you will be held criminally responsible. Nick's head is not going to excuse that.

DrCaleb @ Thu Jun 09, 2005 12:13 pm

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
The Geneva Convention appiles to prisoners of war. Looters and drunks and terrorists are not prisoners of war. Civilian war criminals would not enjoy Geneva Convention protections,

*Bzzzzt* Incorrect. Chapter 11, Article 50 of the Geneva conventions deals with the treatment of Civillian Population and Civillian Prisoners (anyone not designated 'combatant' under Article 43) and their treatment by an occuping power.

Where did I say it is ok to kill? Did you notice the Berg beheading was exactly the same time the pictures from Abu were being released? Cause and effect.
