You're assuming parity in capabilities here and there is no parity in capability between US forces and Chinese forces.

China's millions of soldiers would be so many meat waffles after the concentrated air attacks got done with them. And before you get lathered up about our air chewing up their soldiers we'd have air dominance over China in short order.

For all the strength that China has, they have no means to send it anywhere and their troops are mostly in fixed positions which makes them handy targets. For all their bluster they can't even transit the Taiwan Strait.

The USA vs. China would be a very short engagement.

We'd hit their nukes, sink their subs, zap their satellites, hit their command capabilities and all of that would be day one.

After that we'd get serious.

Well, losers like yourself said the US would have 15,000 to 25,000 casualties in the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and then we blew through the Iraqi military like sh*t through a goose.

When it comes to war, no one is better at it than we are. This police action nonsense in Iraq is not what the military is about and my frustration in soldiers being assigned to police duties pisses me off to no end.

So far as China goes, their doctrines were and mostly are the same as what Iraq had going into 2003 and the summary defeat of the Iraqis humbled the PLA quite a bit.

And as to your laughter there were a lot of Iraqis laughing at how they were going to slaughter the American and allied invaders in 'The Mother of All Wars' - and they're mostly dead or in prison now.

Well China would be very stupid as of right now to invade Taiwan or send forces there. I really doubt they are going to do anything that aggressive. I think the best thing to solve Taiwan would be a referendum whether they want to stay with China or become independent. Even though China doesn’t want this we should push for it to happen and counter them by saying if they are really the people republic why not let the people decide what they want? Sure China will grumble and possibly start hurting economic relations but I don’t think they will engage in warfare especially against American forces in the region. Also if Taiwan does vote to stay with China we are going to have to respect that and maintain order in the country.

   

Absolutely. I just don't see the free people of Taiwan inviting the slavemasters of Beijing to come into Taiwan and execute a bunch of them for standing up to Communist domination for the past sixty years. *If* Taiwan votes to reunify it will be after mainland China becomes a democracy, and even then, they may still choose full independence once the threat of Communist aggression is past.
