She made a big deal out of something I frankly could care less about.
If you could care less.... why not concede the issue to her?
It's a matter of principle.

Female Obliviocity
Why is it when a small group of women start chatting they complete loose sense of the world around them? Why are they so utterly unaware that they’re blocking a doorway, blocking a grocery store isle, blocking a bank machine, blocking an elevator, blocking traffic and that other people are piling up behind them? And why do they get so pissed off when they’re politely asked to get out of the way and possibly restrain their child from scaling the canned soup shelves like it’s the climbing wall at MEC?

AMEN BROTHER!

Principle? When something admittedly doesn't bother you but you know it bothers someone else so you do it anyway....
What kind of principles are those?

No, the principle of not doing something just because someone whines about it. Suck it up. Don't like it up? Too bad. Go in after I'm done and put it down
It's a matter of principle to NOT concede to something so trivial.

Do you have any idea how petty that sounds? I mean... this isn't a child you're dealing with, it's an adult.
Doesn't matter. Why should we have to adjust how we do things to suit someone else's petty needs?

Can't really say it to you, cause you don't care...cause you're normal.
But response normally would have been "Want you bottle when I leave the seat up?"

Petty is all in the eye of the beholder. If someone feels something is important and they ask you to do it, and you don't "just because"... that makes you petty.
Pettier, actually.
Compromise... it's what all the mature kids do.

How is putting the seat down important? That's like saying putting your socks in a certain drawer is important. If it's that fucking important, I'll build or buy something that does it automatically

It's not about the toilet seat. It's about respect and compromise.
One day you'll learn to choose your battles.

How about respecting my right to choose to put the seat down or not?
Or how about a compromise then I have to lift it up when I have to take a leak, and they have to put it down. THAT is compromise.

Yes you do obviously. If I am to take it any other way please elaborate.

Lily sometimes a toilet seat is JUST a toilet seat

Curious here why should the girl not put the toilet seat up for the man. Why is the onus on the man to put the seat down.
