Zip and I were discussing the BC situation. YOu want to horn in, at least know what we're talking about. I don't need a Canadian study to tell me what's going on in BC schools.

No dipstick...........you were countering the Canadian study with Andy Logic in your first post.
$1:
has nothing to do with it. Ie not some intrinsic trait (genetic superiority of private school students?) but external factors like the fact your parents are able to support you academically and enrich your learning opportunities and you're in a class with people from the same background instead of having all sorts of special needs students in your class taking the teacher's attention.

The quote of mine that you used was from the discussion I was having with Zip about BC. Now you're trying to tell me what I'm talking about?

The quote you just gave has nothing to do with funding of schools.

What the fuck is wrong with you? If this is too confusing for you, maybe just don't join in.

I countered Sheps bullshit with a direct quote from the article that gave the reasons why students in private schools do better. Had nothing to do with intrinsic motivation, but external factors such as the parent's socio-economic factors and the milieu the peer group find themselves in.
Man, if you're this confused, just take some time off.

The story is about Canadian private schools.

The story is not about education in BC.

If you want to make it about BC and then bitch when people are referring to the topic in the proper context, you're the idiot.

If only you'd take your own advice.

WTF does Ontario have to do with BC? Idiot.

Again you must have failed to read the story because it was a Canadian study. If you are just posting your own personal failures then you should start another thread..........because andy you have fuck all knowledge outside of the coffee shop.

Schools, especially BC schools need to fire some teachers and employ more pilots. Thais will have an immediate improvement on those who wish to fly high and teach everyone how not to crash.

The pilots will be available soon when aircraft become fully automatic. [/snicker]

Yep, you've got nothing. YOu're not smart enough to realize when Zip and I are talking about BC schools, seem to have no ability to see context at all. And now, just like Shep, you resort to shit flinging because that's all you've got.

A big old steaming handful of Andy.

Lack of understanding has never stopped you. Perhaps we should start a thread about reheating frozen dough, or when is the best time to change coffee filters, just to let you express some expertise. Once again you've proven that you're the jack off of no trade.

andyt @ Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:17 pm

Seems you and Regina have joined the club. You ramble on about intrinsic motivation when the report makes clear that it's external factors that make the difference between public and private. Guess it doesn't really matter about your cognitive abilities since you're only teaching people you despise anyway. Just putting in your time til you can get out of there.

And Regina can't seem to comprehend when two people are having a discussion that is only tangentially related to the op.

Not too impressive.

Wow. Big stretch there fella. Considering you made the second post. Now you're telling me that you and Zip were having a conversation before that? Case of the vanishing posts?
Keep rolling up the rim Andy.

I went to a private school. Having smaller class sizes was fantastic. 6-8 kids to a teacher was really nice. A lot of the kids in the school I went to were fuckups, but teachers we pretty outstanding. My Math teacher was awesome.

andyt @ Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:40 pm

The report actually says there is very little difference in class sizes between the two systems. As it says, the factors that stand out are the parent's socio-economic status and they had peers with university educated parents. It shows that once this advantage is gained, it gets passed down. Ie it reduces social mobility.

Most of the people in the school I went to were kids who had been expelled from public school.

Defying them stats though!

andyt @ Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:52 pm

That's probably a special school, not representative of most private schools.

Accurate! But nonetheless was a good school, with good teachers. And I don't care what a study says, having 6 people in a classroom made getting help easier. We also had longer class hours but shorter semesters. 2.5 hours a day but had 4 semesters in the school year. Way better structure.
