So, I took Peck's advice and have been trying out THC Sativa oil.

So far, I've been a little underwhelmed. But I found out that's because I've been doing it wrong.

I got some whisky, put a drop in it, drank it and waited. And waited. Kept waiting. Waited the recommended 2 hours. I think the only buzz I got was from the whisky. So the next day I tried 2 drops. Had to wait till the weekend again, and tried 4. Then 8. That gave me a bit of a buzz. Till I found out that holding it under the tongue is the way to go. Then 4 drops was plenty, but lasted all day!

A little long for what I had in mind, but at least I didn't feel like I had too much wine the next day.

So I did some research. Found out about vaping. Different temperatures give different results! I did not know that! A spent a bit of time in a local cannibius shop (which, weirdly, is on the exact spot as my grade 4 classroom) and they were very helpful in filling in some blanks. I have to say, I loved that there were many people in the store, including many older people. (like, little old ladies!) And I don't think I've ever had a salesman try to down sell me on a product. We went through turpines, flavinoids, and different forms of THC depending on temperature. One lady in the store told me she lost 100 pounds, because she turned the temperature of her vaporizer up so that it produced THC-V, which is an appetite suppressant. I told her "SOLD!".

So I got a mid range model, with an optional basket to hold oil and wax specifically. Waiting for the weekend to try it out. It was actually a very busy store, considering they had absolutely no cannibius to sell.

Man, it was nice. The first day of legalization was a decent day weather-wise here so I parked my ass on the front porch and cranked up a nice fatty. After 35 years of keeping it on the down-low, it was almost liberating.

Looking forward to trying the vaping one day when the finances improve somewhat. I can't smoke, literally, without choking half to death so going that route is simply not an option.

Gonna finish off a few brownies tonight. So far edibles are my favourite thing. Bit of a headache later but that's no big deal. Found out to that much like with an alcohol hangover the best thing to do to get rid of a headache from imbibing is to have an energy drink like RedBull or Monster. The overwhelming sugar/caffeine onslaught usually does the trick, combined with some half decent food of course.

I should be picking up my second ever shipment of product at the post office this afternoon.

I just love that you can get weed at the post office! And you pay taxes on it, and get a receipt!

I ordered a variety of types. I am a little disappointed by oil, but am starting to appreciate a vaporizer. Case in point, I had some wine with dinner on Sunday. Monday, it felt like I had some wine with dinner Sunday night. Cannabis doesn't do that, for the same buzz.

Woman at the Hardware store was explaining to three guys about LED grow lights and which systems to use to grow at home. Told them she'd been growing for 30 years.
And her Boss was smiling away at her when she made the sale.
Who'da thunk, huh?

Just as an FYI, the "pre-rolled" option comes as a single wrapped (in a reasonably child proof package), not too tight and not too loose, cone. Just the way Pierre Burton liked them.

I figured out the cannabis with 0% THC and .1% CBD.

It's frikken amazing! You don't get the head and body high you do with THC (or too much whisky), but it feels like an amazing calm comes over you, and you slip into a warm hot tub. My aching back, aching feet, sore ribs (surgical leftovers), all disappeared.

For a few hours at least.

Highly recommending Aurora Cannabis Hybrid strain called "Temple" @ 200c in a vaporizer.

So I am trying the other part of legalization, that you can grow up to four plants per household.

I got a few seeds, of different strains. Damn, they germinate fast! I got them last Monday, they germinated by Wednesday, and I potted them then. A week later, they are already at the 4 leaf stage! My peppers take 8 - 10 days to germinate and are only at the 8 leaf stage, 2 months after potting them!

The distributor said they grow well outdoors, and take about 10-12 weeks to mature. We'll see!

It's not an easy plant, from what I've been reading. I have had a garden all my life, and these plants seem to take a lot of care and attention to properly raise.
