I just proved that at least eight of those quotes were either directly from the Bible for were directly quoted from prominent religious leaders. In other words, it's not just Muslims who exhibit sexism. What's wrong with your brain?
heh... I just noticed that. Good catch, JetBoy.
I guess one tip off should have been the reference to feminist lesbians. I don't think the Koran uses those words.

They all are:
Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.1 Corinthians 14:34-35
But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:3
For indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake. 1 Corinthians 11:9
"As regards the individual nature, woman is defective and misbegotten, for the active force in the male seed tends to the production of a perfect likeness in the masculine sex; while the production of woman comes from a defect in the active force or from some material indisposition, or even from some external influence." St. Thomas Aquinas
If they [women] become tired or even die, that does not matter. Let them die in childbirth, that's why they are there." Martin Luther
"Most of these feminists are radical, frustrated lesbians, many of them, and man-haters, and failures in their relationships with men, and who have declared war on the male gender. The Biblical condemnation of feminism has to do with its radical philosophy and goals. That's the bottom line. Jerry Falwell

Eph. 5:25; 1 Peter 3:7), , and likewise has set the gender-based role and responsibility of females to be that of help and nurture(Gen. 2:18) and life-giving(Gen. 3:20) under male leadership and protection .. 1 Peter 3:7

"...make dads the godly leaders [of the family] with the women in submission, raising kids for the glory of God." Randall Terry, Operation Rescue
In the beginning God made man male and female. He made Adam first, and then made Eve from Adam's rib. Get bent Lily, I have every right to have issues with fucking fat chicks

I didn't make them that way, not my fault they don't know words like fruit, vegetables and exercise.
Your issue should be to try and convince them to make themselves healthier not judge and degrade them.

Uh huh you expect they are going to listen to me when i am the epitome of every thing they are not. Therefore they HATE me , give me dirty looks, call me shit like princess, slut. Yep, they are going to listen to me lecture them on the benefits of eating healthy and exercising regularly. Whats going to happen is I'm going to end up under some fat girl while she tries to rip my face off.

So you have issues with every fat "chick" because of some problems you've had? I say try and be helpful not hurtful and those that don't want the help can get bent.

What are you giving the thumbs up too? That these passages may be in the bible, or that modern Christians have evolved past this type of thinking?

Look in all seriousness I am not rude to them ever, I vent here. I would never intentionally seek to hurt some one . Yeah I can get nasty on this board, but I highly doubt I have the power to hurt someone. A face to face confrontation is a different thing, in real life while I'm getting the looks and name calling I suck it up and move on. I can certainly be a nasty bitch in the real world if need be, but it takes a little more than a nasty name or a dirty look to motivate that.

Jerry Falwell ,The Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood ,Randall Terry and Reformation Fellowship of the East Valley, Mesa, AZ are modern Christians. I am not a Christian hater, I am a Roman Catholic and am loyal to my faith. I only point these things out to illustrate that Muslims are not the only people still living in the middle ages.

Can you name which christian is cutting off peoples heads?
I see a few people defending the rights of muslims wearing a burka... all fine and well...BUT you try walking down your local city main street dressed all in black with a ski mask on and im pretty sure within seconds the police will stop you and tell you to remove it so you can be identified......... one rule for one, another for another

I am not allowed to ask a question here? Jesus BN, who the hell are you to judge me? BD ASSUMES they are happy wearing a burqa. I ASSUME some of them are not, but are not allowed to take them off.
Plenty of muslims women choose not to wear a burqa.
exactly. but that was not the issue.
Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:
Brenda Brenda:
I asked before, does anyone really know what they are wearing under the burqa? The clothes underneath are just as western (at least in a western country, what we are talking about here) as mine, or your GFs clothes are. A burqa is nothing more or less than a cover over their "at home" clothes, so no other man then their own could get arroused by their appearance.
They don't wear headscarfs or burqa's at home, UNLESS there is ANOTHER man than their own in the house.
So? You wear your shirt when you're out in public
so the men around you won't be aroused. You might wear a set of pajamas when you're at home that you would never wear if you had company over. We all have personal limits that are PERSONAL - nobody else should tell you you're wearing too much clothing.
Oh no, you are not gonna tell me THAT is THE reason for me to wear my clothes. I couldn't care less if men were aroused by seeing me with clothes on or clothes off. That is men's problem.
You are telling what I wear in my own home, not on the streets. When I am in my own home, I might walk around naked, just because I like it. But when I am outside, I dress APPROPRIATELY, according to normal society in that country. That includes covering my arms and knees is a muslim country. That is called respect too, you know. It should go both ways.
Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:
How would you feel if some nudist told you your clothes were oppressive and demeaning and offensive to him?
I would tell him he could go to his nudist camping or city or where ever it is normal to be a nudist, but not on public streets, where it is common to wear clothes. If I were on the nudist beach, or camping or whatever, I would undress.
If you wear a balaclava on the streets, you will be caught by the police in no time. It is scary as hell, and when you walk the streets at night, and some guy in a balaclava, or a person in a burqa shows up, you don't feel safe. They are never alone too.
BTW, it is forbidden here to wear a burqa in public places, and the police should be able to check your identity all the time. No passport photos wearing a burqa.
Brenda @ Fri Sep 07, 2007 2:16 am
Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:
Also, for the next time you see a muslim with a burqa on, ask her if it's violating her
She will not answer a male.
Brenda Brenda:
Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:

exactly. but that was not the issue.
If women often choose not to wear the burqa, why assume those who do are unhappy with that choice?

Why do you wear clothes at all, then? Why not walk down the street naked, or in your pajamas?
Muslim women dress in what they feel is appropriate - it's got nothing to do with "respect" if you're telling them that they have to expose more of their body than they want to. Obviously issues with security (banks, etc) need special consideration, but in general someone should be free to wear whatever they are comfortable with.
Brenda Brenda:

To some Muslims, in public it's 'normal' to wear a burqa. We're not talking about private beaches or campgrounds, we're talking about public streets that we all live on.
How would you feel if someone decided your clothing wasn't revealing enough, or if they told you that wearing a dress was too old-fashioned?
Brenda Brenda:
If you wear a balaclava on the streets, you will be caught by the police in no time. It is scary as hell, and when you walk the streets at night, and some guy in a balaclava, or a person in a burqa shows up, you don't feel safe. They are never alone too.
Trying to compare "some guy" in a balaclava and a woman in a burqa is silly.
Brenda Brenda:

Well, in Canada, you'll be happy to know that our Charter guarantees our right to be secure against unreasonable search and/or arrest, and there's no law that says identification must be provided if requested (unless, I think, you're stopped in a vehicle).
Brenda @ Fri Sep 07, 2007 4:08 am
Uhhmmm, BN, I never said I am telling people what to wear or not to wear. I said what I THINK about it. I am entitled to my opinion, whether you think it is politically correct or not. Don't try and twist my words around.
The comparison between a man in a balaclava and a person in a burqa is not silly. You see as much from the one as you see from the other. Try again.

I'm not concerned with being "politically correct" - I'm concerned with treating everyone with the same level of respect.

It is silly. The amount of a person yo can see doesn't make them more likely to commit a crime.

I would like some respect in Iran if I walk naked on the street. You know what will happen when I do that, right?

A couple of years ago i saw a woman at the mall completely covered ... she even wore gloves. She was head to toe in black (although i don't exactly remember if the gloves were black too). It was very strange to see her roaming the aisles in Sherway Gardens, a pretty chi chi mall in Toronto, completely ignoring the stares and whispers of the other shoppers. The only time she took notice is when two little girls started crying because they were frightened by her appearance.
Now I am a Racist Ape

London

Reports tonight that Germany has foiled a massive terror plot emphasise that the perpetrators have expressed a ‘profound hatred of Americans.’
Now, this is an interesting piece of phrasing. The have not said they ‘hate America.’ They have not said they ‘hate American foreign policy ‘ or ‘American support for the Zionist entity. ‘ They hate Americans.
This piece of news would not have resonated so much with me had I not had a disturbing few weeks trying to live a quiet life in central London, where I have resided for thirty-two years.
Recently I went into a well-known coffee chain in Edgware Road near Marble Arch. As I waited to be served I noticed the café was crowded but that I was the only female customer. Men in various permutations of Middle Eastern garb, including several in full head-to-toe keffiyah and robe, stared at me.
When I sat down and opened my bottle of apple juice I noticed it was fizzing. I called the server over and told her that the juice had fermented. ‘No -- English’ she said, throwing her arms up in despair. Another server came over and asked me what the problem seemed to be. I told her the juice had fermented and that they needed to check their fridge. She looked at the other woman and they shrugged.
I have to confess I have a short fuse about non-English people populating what seems to be 99 % of every job in London and the Home Counties. I am spoilt because in recent years I have been to the USA several times and marvel at the stupendous service provided by young college students and other Americans who possess perfect English and are obliging beyond anyone’s expectations.
So, I became exasperated and said ‘Is there no-one working here who speaks English? This is Paddington - this is still a London neighbourhood.’
A well-dressed man came over and said ‘I speak English.’ I thought he was going to intervene on my behalf but instead came out with this astonishing observation:
‘You are a racist! You are a racist ape! Look at you-- you are an ape!’
I was dumbfounded. I came to London thirty-two years ago to soak up the culture of Dr Johnson and Chaucer and Milton, and in the autumn of my life am called an ape by a man from, well, perhaps Egypt, perhaps Palestine, perhaps Saudi Arabia..
Shocked, I glared at him, but he had to finish things off : ‘You want them to speak Hebrew, don’t you?’
I got up from my seat and went over to him and at the top of my voice said I would be proud to speak Hebrew if I could, it being the language of the Torah and of an ancient culture going back six-thousand years.
He then embarked on a tirade at me about the ‘five million Indians’ slaughtered in genocide in America. Meanwhile, the men in the café were in various states of laughter at me, and exhibiting great admiration for him.
Believe it or not, the server had in the meantime brought me a fresh juice which I calmly drank with my very un-Hebrew ham and cheese sandwich, and then I left. I wandered over to the flower shop and found myself commiserating with what seemed to be two Englishwomen who lived in a permanent state of fear in a neighbourhood they had called their own for generations. They told me I must have been mad going into that shop, as ‘all the establishments in Edgware Road are off-limits to us now.’ They told me there was one small café that was safe for a western woman. ( I had a private giggle about this, considering how appallingly rudely I had been treated by the cockney publican in The Green Man Pub in Edgware Road. I can’t win.)
Britain made a huge mistake and it's being forced on Canadians now. I hope we wake up before it gets to this.
