I think lots of these are great ideas, but not for a first date. If you over do it on the first date it can be overpowering. IT is a bit uncomfortable if you do too much right away. Just going out to a movie or for dinner on a first date is fine, wait till the first aniversarry for the big stuff.

It's also the small unexpected things that makes it more romantic. Just you know buy some flowers on the way from home for no other reason then just to say "I love you". Just make sure you're buying the flowers for your girlfriend or wife...

Or just out of the blue...turn on some music at home, grab her (nicely) and start dancing with her. Doing things like that out of the blue..will melt her heart.

The one I like the best is just walking up behind her, hug her from behind and give her some gentle kisses on the back of her neck.

SwampoO SwampoO:
I asked a girl oot on a date and on the morning of the date I went to a shopping mall and found the biggest snow pile I could find. I brought a shovel and dug out the entire inside and made a neet big ole snow fort. At supper time I walked over to my dates house and I called a cab that I had already cued to what location we were going to. He dropped us off at the snow fort where I had a warm picnic style dinner waiting with wine and candles. It was so much fun and the dates eyes were lit up in excitement the entire time.

I have a billion of these romantic moments... yet Im single =(...
Not a bad idea..mind you, in a parking lot wouldn't be good. Making the snowfort in the woods or in your back yard, would had been better. Also have a snowman (wearing a top hat) as your doorman would had been a nice touch. Also I would suggest serving some ice cream after the meal for some cute irony.

i took my wife to seattle for 3 days for her birthday.
the actual night of her b-day, prince was in concert at the seattle key arena and i took her there. she didn't know about the concert until that day when we walked by the marquee and saw he was playing that night.
she was very surprised.

If anybody laughs I'll kick their ass.

Years back, a buddy and I rented medieval costumes and went to each others girlfriend’s place of work as a "humble servant of thy master" to get down on our knees and read a proclamation of endearment in classic Shakspeareanese. This was followed by a rose and a book of poetry. Since my girlfriend was a university student working in a restaurant buddy had to do it in front of staff and customers.

Mrs GFPB still has the rose and book 15 years later.

I promise I won't ........(snicker,snicker) laff!

Man, I feel sorry for your buddy. That had to be soooo hard to do!

The most romantic thing I've done lately is to send The Mrs. flowers at work just for the 'because of it'.

The Mrs and I have been hanging out for 25 yrs and one time I couldn't get home for our anniversary so I arranged a flower delivery One flower color for each child and roses for every year. When she got up the next morning I had breakfast ready for her. I had driven all night to get back.

It was recently my birthday and I received a dozen roses AND some chokolate truffles, ordered on-line from this site.

Now what am I going to get for Valentine's day, more flowers?

My poor husband, oh well, at least he found a good place to order on-line, and it looks like a Canadian operation.

Yeah, but when I met here she didn't speak English and I didn't speak French. Now that she's learned the language I have to pay attention instead of being able to ignore her and only look like I'm paying attention.

It's snowing up a storm today. So in this winter wonderland the red roses stood out. On my way in to work, red roses were attached to almost every light pole along the street and even as i turned i could see that the roses continued down the road. There must have been dozens..... Some woman was very lucky today to have her route lined with roses. (Even i got to enjoy it for a little bit)
