This was about an exercise in the principles of Democracy and had nothing to do with left or right. The exercise failed and I believe it was not the will of the majority but rather the will of the minority.

Nice spin, GRPB. Too bad for you that there were some libs that supported him and some cons who didn't.

But that's the cool thing with polls.... if you don't get the results you want, you can always make up some reason to whine about it.
Well Lily, it's no secret that the polls are/were broken. It's not like he's making that up it's quite public. I think you like to argue anything as long as it's against a conservative.

55 total votes. If anyone were trying to skew the results, they sure didn't put in much of an effort, did they?

I voted "yes", RUEZ, but after talking with one of your fellow cons, and really paying attention to your recent posts, I've changed my mind. Comments like you just made are fairly typical - you put a political slant on almost everything. If someone disagrees with you, it must be because you're a Con and they're a lib.

You were the first to jump on others for starting a post with "you Cons...", yet your own are full of "typical liberal" comments.

I like you a lot, RUEZ, and I have a lot of respect for you, but you are too partisan to moderate a political discussion fairly.

Talk about spin. You are caught in the writhing grasp of reason. You know the polls were manipulated but defend it anyway out of the belief that the ends justify the means and that....THAT is why I am so deeply opposed to liberalism.

If this man was elected then the safety of anyone to the far left would have been in serious jeopardy, thats for sure.
Thank God for sanity, eh!

Sorry, I just wanted to make sure the problem still existed and that I wasn't digging myself a hole like lily is now.

I don't neccessarily disagree with you. I am very political, and a lot of what I post is in direct response to something someone has previously done. When I post "typical liberal" or any other liberal remark, it's because I'm sick of the vilification that conservatives get around here. In the Trudeau thread Blue labels everyone "neo-cons" right off the bat. Half of the guys in the discussion were seperatists! I'm glad I won't be a mod because I can still tell it like I see it, and that is a lot of liberals around here walking around with there heads in the air like there shit don't stink. And you Lily are one of the worst.

HA! I never thought this day would come. I should savour this moment as it will probably be the last time I'm actually agreeing with you.

EDIT: The Lily part that is.

Do you have any reason to believe THIS poll was manipulated, other than it didn't give the results you hoped for?

Aside from the overwhlming support he received not shuking and jiving with the heavily skewed results against? No

Besides, given your recent slew of posts, it's fairly obvious who's a little quick on the submit button. ;)

I had to test it to be sure. I would never break the sanctity of any ballot booth anywhere at anytime. I have my pride. Sure it is entirely possible that it was strictly a couple of yes people cheating and the no side would have been even farther ahead, but I am not an idiot and the liberal tendency towards dishonesty does not escape me.

I would like to know if Canadaka can tell if any cheating took place? I am not interested in exposing the cheaters but just a confirmation.

Thanks, RUEZ.

A fair person wouldn't have singled out liberals for that comment.
Bite me.

Choosing the liberal I think would be least likely to beat the Conservative from a list of candidates presented to me by the Liberal party itself is hardly the same comparison. That means that every liberal who voted for someone other then Dion had the fix in? Now if I had voted for the person 10-15X then it would be a different story. And remember, my (and others) actions were in direct reaction to teach liberals in the constituency a lesson as they had drew first blood by not only coming in to vote but to use the more open and democratic process of the Conservatives to actually place their own candidate in the line up.

Defending Liberal integrity is like defending the Taliban as progressive moderates. Good luck.

Same, but of course I must be lying, because of that liberal tendency toward dishonesty.

I actually have my suspicions and your not on the list. But I will defend that Liberals have no problem bending the rules if they think the results justify it. For example, while the Conservatives and even the Greens look to have the community vote on the candidate, the Liberals have said to hell with democracy, we will APPOINT women because WE FEEL that is what SHOULD be done.

RUEZ @ Sat Feb 24, 2007 11:29 am

Anyway just so people know. I am not bitter about the results. I can even understand them. There are people that honestly don't like me, and then there are people that just don't think I would be neutral enough. That's fair, they might be right. I do try and be fair to most people. It's not like there isn't a liberal mod here though. It would have been nice to hear from some of the no's though. I think Ziggy is the only one that had anything to say. Maybe most of the no's are to timid? Feel free to post now if you like I'm still curious.
