And his post was edited for it. Everyone gets one shot for free, then the warnings start. Continuing that fight is the problem. Moderators are the ones supposed to deal with ongoing disagreements.

Moderators are suppose to be the mediators, so that the rest don't keep taking shots. If you see things like that, report it. Don't perpetuate it. Like your comment above, I didn't see anything particularly offensive in that post. Put him on ignore, and move on.

We do that because we really don't want to make the situation worse. Better to let people cool off themselves than get angrier because they get a warning. Which can affect your job prospects later and look bad on a credit report.
