The difference between the extremists and a professional association is standards. If you belong to a professional organization, like a Medical College, you commit to upholding certain standards of professional conduct.

If you go around saying things outside the scope of your training, your professional association will hold you to the standards you agreed to. That's because people see you as a professional, and take your professional opinion as fact. If you are spreading falsehoods, that reflects on them as much as it does you, so it is in their interest to make you stop.

That's not cancel anything. In many cases, that is legally binding. No one is stopping him saying what he wants. He just can't do it as a professional.

I am also part of a professional organization, and if I broke the standards of that group; not only would I be legally responsible, I would be removed from their rolls and not allowed to call myself a 'Professional Engineer'. That's why Ezra was going to be disbarred. That why Andrew Wakefield was stripped of his Doctorate. You can't go around lying and not be accountable for it. Speech has consequences.

   

Peterson's road show in front of paying audiences is nothing more than the exact same thing he taught in his classes for years. Saying he's breaching professional standards just because he became popular as a traditionalist with an anti-woke message is bullshit given that the university, which one of the most hardcore far-left universities in the entire country, he worked for saw nothing wrong with how he was managing his classes or with what he was teaching. And there's no evidence at all that Peterson's engaged in any sort of conduct as a counsellor that runs counter to the standards of a professional clinician. To my knowledge there's been none of Peterson's patients who have filed complaints of any sort against him. If that's the case then it can't be proven that he's allowed his politics to corrupt either his clinical methods or the treatments he provides to anyone who consults with him for therapy.

I highly doubt that anyone in any profession today who goes around on social media saying that Trudeau is the best in the world and that all the people in the Conservative party are child-eating Nazis would get in any trouble with their vocational authorities at all. That's the hypocrisy in all of this, as usual. Peterson took the wrong side therefore he has to be destroyed. And I'm not saying that because I believe much of what Peterson says, because I certainly don't. And I certainly don't support Peterson when he really goes off the rails, like he did with his blind support for the truKKKer convoy idiots, or when he gets far too spastic on Twitter over something some utterly irrelevant celebrity did or said. It's just that it's so plainly obvious that anyone denying that it's happening because of their massive personal animosity towards Peterson because of his political or cultural stances has no idea what they're talking about. Or they're outright lying. Peterson is being subject to a campaign of political revenge, nothing more and nothing less.

999 out of 1000 haters of Jordan Peterson have never even listened to a single word the man has said. They're just going along with his annihilation because their tribal leaders tell them he has to be hated for opposing their social revolution. At this stage on the left it's the French Revolution all over again, only that this time (so far anyway) the guillotine isn't accompanying the bogus, false, and malicious denouncements the mob so deeply loves to make.

   

Peterson is a flim flam man and his position isn't static at all. He has adopted a position to favor the audience he courts. He is in violation thru those actions by misrepresenting the institution he is accredited to.

They didn't change their standards, he flouted theirs.

All Peterson did was oppose the people and organizations who, without consent of the vast majority of the population, have imposed a radical cultural revolution on ALL of us. No consent was given. No input was allowed. No dissent will be tolerated. Take someone as big as Peterson down and they can take any one of the rest of us down too if we don't go along with their obscene theories. They literally want Peterson to be "re-educated" and to publicly denounce himself with an open warning of "OR ELSE".

Mao would be seriously proud of you people at how easily you take up the pitchforks and torches on behalf of the cause. They allowed more freedom of thought and of conscience in the fucking Third Reich than people like you would allow in the dying Western democracies.

   

Prove it? It's public record. Google it yourself. This is why he is under investigation and must prove to the college via a 'coaching program' that he understands the principals that he must adhere to maintain his license. The onus is on him.

Peterson's positions are unsubstantiated and made up to suit the carnival of personality he has adopted and has no standard other than grift.

Therefore, the College of Psychologists of Ontario asking him to stop with the misinformation is part of the contract Jordan Peterson signed as a member of that College. Or he can leave the College, and stop practising psychology.

He hasn't had an active license since 2017 so the whole thing is a PR stunt anyway. The college has to do this to keep their policies in check. Just like copyright if you don't challenge every contention you effectively abdicate the authority.

   

You don't have to be practising to be part of a professional organization. I am not working as an engineer, but as a member of APEGGA and ASET I can use the title 'P.Eng'. If I weren't a member, I could only cite my Engineering degree, but not use 'P.Eng'. I think. I'm rusty on that.

I assume something is similar for the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Perhaps as a non member, he could still use the title 'Doctor', but not be able to call himself a Psychologist. Or something.

He wouldn't be able to write a prescription but he could still render a diagnosis. So on network the license wouldn't be active but if he were to pay the required dues he could be reinstated assuming he is in good standing.

   

Jordan Peterson uploaded a document with screenshots of the complaints made against him to the College of Psychologists.

The first allegation is that he, a licensed psychologist, made a joke about suicide directed at someone on Twitter.

Not even surprised by Pollivre. I'm sure he thinks it's perfectly fine for health professionals to council suicide. I bet he's such a free speech absolutist that he's cheer for those wishing him harm too.
