My lab tests for alot of those treatment drugs. Some, like Lithium, are doing what they are meant to do and others like Ritalin are being pushed like they were M&Ms.
It's terrifying how dependent society is becoming on medications to help moderate moods and ostensibly in part, achieve the holy grail of happiness. I wonder how much, if any, drugs both legal and illegal, along with chemicals and pollutants could contribute.
Well Litium has solid science behind it. There is a physiological reason. Depression can be caused by neurotransmitter imbalance or hormonal in nature. Medically fewer then 10% of people on drugs for treating mood disorders/depression fit that category.
People want instant results but rarely does depression have a quick-fix solution.

I think that's because sometimes depression is a rational reaction to given circumstances that cannot be resolved with pharmaceuticals. In the same circumstances the optimistic person could be considered to be in denial.
I am not happy today...no

Don't worry about Gerry he obviously didn't.
When I play golf in a thunderstorm I hold a one iron in the air, even God can't hit a one iron, that makes me happy.

The problem with that is that the people that made the past week special aren't all in the same place anymore, and most of them won't be again until next year. I don't even know if I'll be able to go next year. I think I'm really mostly missing the people I met, though.
It's not just what I did, it's also the setting. When the only thing between you and where you want to be is some trees or a hill or some people, cities seem like insane labyrinths by comparison. Just think of all of the doors, stairs and hallways you have to navigate just to get out of a house.
I suddenly like you a lot more than ever before.
Good to hear you were happy and I hope that this comes around again soon for you.
