Sorry, the gong show down south has me in a deep "where's Robespierre when we need him?" mood right now. There's nothing I'd like to see more at this moment than a mule-drawn cart full of the severed heads of elitists and plutocrats being pulled down Wall Street or past the House Of Representatives.

I love science too, by the way, but I'm not too fond of the "do this or die!" variety being pushed by radicals and puritans. Can put their heads in the back of the cart with those of the hedge-fund managers too as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not fond of them either. I think the biggest victory of the deniers has be to convince the madding crowd that anyone supporting AGW is an apolcalyptic alarmist.

my biggest concern isn't global warming in the world, though I believe to be real and potentially serious.

My biggest concern right now is shutting off this computer and going home! Good night all! [B-o]

I am??? That's news to me. Perhaps you can freshen my memory as to what ridiculous religious claims I'm willing to accept.

I remember, I had a question for you! A little off topic, but let me ask while I remember - I'm trying to weld some aluminum (6061) suspension parts to the frame of a car with 1330 alloy steel. Since they both alloys have Magnesium in the blend; should I use a stick welder with an iron/magnesium blend, or an aluminum/magnesium blend?

Or should I use a TIG welder?

I dunno. I'll ask Jesus, since he built my hotrod

I agree they are both hypocrites. However, if a complete douche bag tells me to continue flossing regularly because it is good dental hygiene, I am not going to stop doing it because he said it.
And if a complete douchebag with multiple palatial homes, 5 kids, and flies all over the planet, tells you to live in smaller homes, reproduce less and travel less, are you still going to listen?

Delwin Delwin:
As for this:
"Millions will die from catastrophic flooding". "Coastal areas will be under as much as 20 feet of water".

I simply can't answer to made up bullshit that no one actually said.

No one said that or similar eh?

Well, that's just three "no ones" of many who have made unsubstantiated claims of catastrophe and are guilty of fear mongering. Hell, even NASA has put serious distance between themselves and James Hansen and his ridiculous claims.

I guess you just didn't want to respond to what was ACTUALLY said. Seems someone trying NOT to be disingenuous would have admitted that stupid predictions have been made and simply called those claims for what they were. Instead, you run straight for the denial, despite a few of decades worth of documented doom and gloom fear mongering that have zero scientific basis whatsoever.

Suzuki is an ass. Global warming is over and global cooling has begun!!!

$1:
A chilly Arctic summer has left 533,000 more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 29 per cent.

The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.

Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.

The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year. More than 20 yachts that had planned to sail it have been left ice-bound and a cruise ship attempting the route was forced to turn back.

Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.

The disclosure comes 11 months after The Mail on Sunday triggered intense political and scientific debate by revealing that global warming has ‘paused’ since the beginning of 1997 – an event that the computer models used by climate experts failed to predict.

In March, this newspaper further revealed that temperatures are about to drop below the level that the models forecast with ‘90 per cent certainty’.

The pause – which has now been accepted as real by every major climate research centre – is important, because the models’ predictions of ever-increasing global temperatures have made many of the world’s economies divert billions of pounds into ‘green’ measures to counter climate change.

Those predictions now appear gravely flawed.

The continuing furore caused by The Mail on Sunday’s revelations – which will now be amplified by the return of the Arctic ice sheet – has forced the UN’s climate change body to reconsider its position.

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was due in October to start publishing its Fifth Assessment Report – a huge three-volume study issued every six or seven years. It will hold a pre-summit in Stockholm later this month.

You know, I'm not an overly big fan of Sucuckoo but he did make some good points in the interview. Yes I take issue with a number of things he said and I could probably go on forever on the hypocrisy and double standard in many of the views he expressed but there were a few moments there that he raised some valid issues.

I don't know, I guess when I read the title of the topic I thought I was going to tune into some type of episode where Suzuki was completely loosing his shit (which we've seen on occasion) but I didn't think it was that terrible. I read the article article rather than watching the vid (because i didnt realize there was a vid :| ) so maybe some of the more outrageous parts were lost on me because of that. That or else I'm just getting use to tuning out his bullshit, who knows.

THIS

Like I've said many times myself, if I were to believe everything these experts say I would have been typing this underwater now. And that's the issue these people have lost all credibility and its just meaninglessness squawking that I just don't pay attention to anymore and I'm sure many others don't as well.

I dunno whether we are heating up or not, is it natural or not and even if it is a bad thing at all. And no one has any real practical feasible plan if it is other than just throwing large sums of money at it and making my life i,e : Average Joe more expensive, difficult and at the very least boring.

Forgive me if I just see this as another money making alarmist scam like the millennium bug.
