Marco marches through the Rangers order in no time at all and has thrown about 31 pitches going into the 5th

No more joy for Jays in the 5th

Marco had a bit of trouble with a couple of batters in the 6th but managed to get out of the inning with the Rangers only getting one hit
A shelling. If Jays do this again somehow in game 2, I wouldn't be surprised if Bautista gets beaned, just because.

Final score 10 - 1 and a simply outstanding performance by Marco who went to 8 and a 3rd innings making things oh so easy on the bullpen and putting up a near perfect exhibition of pitching. The Jays batters stuck to the good old small ball game and when needed the heavy hitters stepped up. This is the way to answer all that negativity and resentment - get them where it really hurts..........on the scoreboard.

Rangers fans don't deserve a playoff team if they can't be bothered to sell out the stadium for the first game on their own turf. Here's hoping the Jays sweep them.

It was an afternoon game, Texans value work and contribution over a baseball game. That's why their state is always near the top in job creation, innovation and competitiveness.
Liberty, freedom and small government allow the best and brightest to thrive. Priorities matter, baseball is low on that list.
I am sure in Toronto it would have been a sell out if it were a 10 am start. Of course, Toronto just taps Ontario on the shoulder for cash or increases property taxes on overvalued homes to support the crony capitalism in the city.

Spoken like a true and faithful Canadian fan of major league baseball, obviously a true lover of the game......

I'm a huge Blue Jays fan, and I am rooting for the Jays. Caught a part of probably every game this year, watched most of them from start to finish.
I listened as a CITY TV reporter was in Texas interviewing people about the game and the Bautista angle. Large majority stated they won't be at the game as they have to work. Noone said they would even leave work early. Fairly clear where their priorities lie. Maybe for a Superbowl game, but not a first round baseball playoff match.
Some were even flaunting the conspiracy that MLB and Texas were picking such horrible times for these first two games to purposely NOT fill the stands, as Rangers are pushing for a new stadium to be built. Many fans figure if the stands aren't filled, owners can argue it is because they need a new stadium to attract fans (and of course, want state support).

Tulo opens the scoring with a 2 run HR in the 2nd...
Now they just have to focus on keeping the ball in the park when pitching and sitting on fastballs when at the plate. As a bonus, Darvish has been notoriously wild this year, Jays patience should pay off with some walks.
Hah, as I type this he hits Barney. Number 9 hitter on by being hit by a pitch, inexcusable for a pitcher in a must win game.
