Play an entire season for a chance to flip a coin for the playoffs. If not for the Jays pitching the first 5 months they might not even have a winning record so they deserve this fate. The last two weeks have been inexcuseable, swept by Yankees, lose to TB (again) can't hold down the mighty Red Sox offense. Worst time to go into a swoon.

Let's hope they can handle the O's or Tigers in their WC game. I prefer the O's simply because I would rather face Tillman than Verlander in a one game winner takes all. At this moment though, I suppose I would just be happy they get that one game opportunity, they aren't exactly a sure thing at the moment, even with the last two wins.

   

The ninth inning of game 3 of a 3 game series vs Seattle, the Jays are ahead 2-0 in the series....Seattle up 1-0 in the ninth, 1 out.....Bautista hits his 19th HR tying the score 1-1.....

The Blue Jays haven't swept a road series since August of last year....

   

It's going to take some time to get all those Jays fans across the border and tucked away in their beds for the night.

   

Ain't that the truth, from the sounds coming from the crowd one would almost think they were playing in Toronto.....

   

Then they blow two men on no out in extra innings. Once they didn't score there I knew it was over, went so deep into the bullpen that Dickey had to come in for the 12th and lose due to two errors by Donaldson.

   

Come on you bums, you owe me some playoff baseball.

   

Put a fork in them after tonights loss.

Sad end for EE and Bautista. Jays bullpen has lost 32 games this year, they have no business being in the post season. If they do happen to sneak in by some miracle now, they won't get out of the first round.

   

Atlanta defeats Detroit, Toronto is in the Wild Card game playing Baltimore, where has yet to be determined. Top of the ninth inning with Toronto leading Boston 2-1. If Toronto wins the game will be played in Toronto.

   

AL WILD CARD

• The Orioles defeated the Yankees, 5-2, to clinch an American League Wild Card berth. Toronto, which entered Sunday tied with Baltimore in the AL Wild Card race, was neck and neck with Toronto at Fenway Park late Sunday afternoon.

• Detroit lost to Atlanta, 1-0, falling out of the postseason race and finalizing the AL Wild Card field: Toronto and Baltimore.

• If Toronto beats Boston, it will host Baltimore in the AL Wild Card Game on Tuesday. If Toronto loses, Baltimore will host.

Really didn't expect this but so happy for the Jays. They will have home-field advantage.

   

They popped the champagne for a wild card position ?? wow pretend that you've been there before.

Salute a few beer maybe and then start getting ready for the game, they really are children playing a mans game.

   

Baltimore did the same as do all Wild Card teams, it's the norm in society that accepts mediocrity and blue participation ribbons. Even at the highest levels of professional sports they celebrate when they haven't won a bloody thing, all with sponsors names in the background and openly drinking only one type of beer (the sponsors).

I take offense to the suggestion they are in the post-season. They are in if they win the WildCard game, a loss and they didn't do squat but play 163 meaningless games instead of 162.
