Orioles take the second game of the series 4 - 2.
Too bad Donaldson couldn't make his 3rd Grand Slam of the season in the 9th with 2 out and the bases loaded......
Wouldn't you know, one of the most exciting games for the Jay's lately and I had to go to town. Watched Blue Jays in 30 this morning and at least got to see how the game progressed. In spite of the Sox hitting 7 homers, the Jays came through with a 10 - 8 victory.

July 1st fireworks in Toronto, Cleveland at Toronto , game tied at 1-1, now in the 14th inning. Both Encarnacion and Gibbons were tossed in the first inning and now in the 14th Russell Martin gets himself ejected....
Now the bottom of the 16th and it seems the Blue Jays are running out of pitchers...Ryan Goins is now in the Bullpen....
Ryan Goins takes to the mound to start the 18th inning, the ninth Toronto pitcher in today's game.....
Goims made it through the 18th with no runs scored. Darwin Barney came to the mound for the 19th, facing Carlos Santana who then hit the winning HR giving the Indians a 2-1 victory
Game over, 2-1 Indians in 19 innings. The Indians, with this win set a franchise record of 14 straight wins!
That was a good series for the Jays Hyack in that they took their lumps and came right back to tie the series with the Indians with 9 -6 win in Game 3 and then the 17 - 1 blow-out in Game 4. KC came to town and the Jays took them down 6 -2, 8 - 3, 4 - 2 to sweep the series with the World Series Champs.
The Detroit Tigers prowled into Rogers Center today fresh off a thrashing they gave the Cleveland Indians. It was a pitchers duo for most of the game until the Jays bats came alive bottom of the 8th. The Jays got on the board early and led 2 - 0 until the top of the 2nd when Upton got a homer. The Jays ended up stranding 12 men on base as they struggled against a very solid pitching performance by Justin Verlander.
In the top of the 8th with Jason Grilli on the mound and the score 4- 3 for the Jays, Grilli delivered a solid performance with a fly-out, a walk then striking out the following 2.
Zeke Carrera, lead-off batter for the Jays, got a single. Josh followed that with a single of his own - Zeke makes it to 3rd. Edwin had a tough night and his last at bat was a replay of all his previous ones - a swing and a miss on strike 3. Captain Canada came to the plate and got his second single of the night advancing Josh to 2nd but Zeke gets thrown out racing for home. Russell Martin works the Tiger's pitcher over before he is issued a walk to load the bases...........and that brings Tulo to the plate. He delivers with a 2-run single that scores Josh and Michael and gives the Jays a 5 - 4 lead. A lead which Roberto would uphold as he takes care of the Tiger's batters in order.
And all this without Joey. I can hardly wait to see what they will do when he is back and we have Marco healed and healthy and ready to go. With this win the Jays are 2 behind the Orioles but with them for most games won.
The Jays blanked the Tigers 6 - 0 yesterday for their 7th consecutive victory. The win puts the Jays one game behind Detroit for first place in the ALE. The AL wild card spot currently belongs to TO. Edwin finally got to walk the parrot again with a fine 3-run missile to center.
Aaron Sanchez will take to the mound today hoping to keep the Jays streak alive. GO JAYS, GO
