George W. Bush Approval Rating High, More Popular Than Obama, Says Gallup Poll

Posted: June 11, 2013 FullscreenCloseLike
President George W. Bush’s approval has gone up, making Bush more popular than Obama.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Barack Obama approval rating seemed to be scandal proof at first. Benghazi and the AP/Fox News scandal didn’t put a dent in Barack Obama’s public popularity, but the IRS scandal has seen Obama’s approval rating drop quickly. Never mind the NRA PRISM scandal.

The height of the President’s popularity saw Obama’s approval rating at 58 percent. Back in May of 2013 the Obama approval rating stood at 54 percent. As news of the Obama IRS scandal continue to be reported by the media the Obama approval rating took a tumble, with polls showing that only 49 percent of the registered voters surveyed believed Obama to be “honest and trustworthy.” But according to Gallup the Obama approval rating stands at only 46 percent.

This means former President Bush is more popular than Obama, with the Bush approval rating standing at 49 percent, with only 46 viewing Bush unfavorably. It’s possible that many Americans have started to realize that Obama has been continuing many of the Bush administration policies, whether it be the Obama NSA spy programs, the wars in the middle east, banking and big business bailouts, or Obama economic policies like the quantitative easing (QE) programs. A recent “George W. Obama” picture criticized the President for these actions.

The recovery of the Bush approval rating is not that unusual according to Gallup. Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton all have favorability ratings over 60 percent.

Why do you think former President George W. Bush’s approval rating is higher than the Obama approval rating?

Former presidents are always more popular.

True but people just 5 years ago wanted to lynch G.W. Bush. Carter even said he was the worst president of modern times ( or something like that) and here 5 years later G.W. is more popular then Obama. Really who would have thought that would happen.

Carter made it all the way to 31%, let's see Barry break that record !

Martin there will need to be a lot more scandals for that to happen. Carter had the Iranian hostages to contend with and his lack of stong leadership in that type of crisis caused him to plummet. Obama so far has been able to deflect a lot of heat from these scandals but if more keep coming up I wouls suspect he will begin to nose dive in the polls.

If it does then he'll still retire to his $35 million dollar mansion in Hawaii.

If next year's implementation of Health Care Reform is executed in a disastrous fashion, which is very likely, the President could easily fall below 30%.

I will never understand why the Administration agreed to fully implement the law during an election year.

True, didn't even register on me that it goes full blown in an election year. This could mean serious trouble for the Dems come election time.

So far Obamacare is going to:

* NOT cover people who earn between $20,000 and $30,000 per year.

* Increase costs for people who are already insured by 30% to as much as 75% in some cases.

* Prohibit foreigners from receiving treatments in the USA (like all of the Canadians who come here for various reasons).

* Cost everyone $63 annually even if they're in the $20k-$30k income gap that's not covered. So in addition to not getting covered those people will have to pay for those who are covered.

* Increase partial unemployment as more firms cut hours to disqualify their workers from mandated coverage for full-time workers (who work 32-40 hours per week).

* Remember Sarah Palin's 'Death Panels'? Long story short: She was right.

And it's also looking like it's going to INCREASE the number of medical bankruptcies as people will be forced to pay for surgeries and etc. that Obamacare doesn't cover and that Obamacare prohibits insurers to cover.

I was assuming you meant the eventual collapse of the USA, making the country ripe for Canadian annexation.
