This was inevitable, I guess. This is what socialists do. When there's a massing of people, they turn up, then eventually embed themselves in the administration and bureaucracy. Ultimately it will lean left. They're like politicized fleas and ticks. You just see a few of them at first, but eventually they own the dog.

Whatever...I estimate tea party folk have about a year to speak against stuff like socialized medicine and cap and tax at tea party events, then the grassroots will have to find some place else to have their voices heard.

Notice how clever these people are? She attempts to demonize Gingrich. Gingrich is center right. By speaking against him she can give the impression to the hard right tea party base she's on their side.

They count on people not stopping to think. If tea party people did stop to think though, they'd be saying "Hmmm...but look what she wants to replace Newt with".

While I also flinch when the code-word "progressive" is said, if the core remains against big government in general, it's unlikely they'd suffer under biased leaders. I think the danger will be if they let themselves to be pidgeon-holed by the media.

Oh just STFU already. You wouldn't know "socialism" if it squirmed it's way up your tight ass. TO you any government spending at all (provided it's being done by a democratic party) is socialist.

You know what else is socialist? THe Armed forces. Public parks. Etc. Anyone who denounces millions of people as 'socialist fleas and ticks" is closer to Hitler than any of those people are to socialism.

EDIT: lol..."Tea bagger"....lol.

N_Fiddledog @ Tue Dec 01, 2009 12:59 pm

Strike a nerve did I, Akh? Try to imagine how little I care. Sorry Bud, you can't. Add that to the long list of stuff you're not bright enough to do.

Akhenaten @ Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:12 pm

yes well at least I can make a point without having to check my notes with the likes of Beck or whoever else.

You never have a point. Just a daily propaganda talking point issued to you from whatever entity you've decided should do your thinking for you.

N_Fiddledog @ Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:20 pm

Oh cut the crap fool. If you have a point to make without invective I have to easily slap down, make it.

Are you saying people or organizations like those mentioned in the video (The Green Party for instance) do not lean left; so far left in fact that the tendency towards socialistic practices is fair comment to notice?

Akhenaten @ Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:24 pm

lol...strike a nerve did I fiddle-de-doo?

I already made my point: that you don't have one. You just have another daily talking point that you don't even understand yourself, issued to you by your intellectual overlords.

Are you saying people or organizations like those mentioned in the video (The Green Party, Ralph Nader) do not lean left?

No and I don't have to. Leaning left doesn't equal "communist" or capital-S "socialist".

Thus ends your lesson for today. You're welcome.

By the way fiddle-de-doo,

I see you edited out all the inflamitory bullcr@p that inspired my response to you in the first place. Too late. Shouldn't have posted at all.

Do you never tire of being wrong? My last edit was 12:32. Nobody else was on the thread. It only appears as an edit, because I posted another one after that. Nobody else appears on the thread until 12:36. You don't appear until 12:37. You had about as much to do with the edit, as you have to do with common sense - meaning nothing.

As I recall my last edit was adding this...

So, are you going to define a socialist for me, and tell me why the green party bears no similarity, or not?

 grassroots

Astroturf maybe.

N_Fiddledog @ Tue Dec 01, 2009 3:50 pm

Astroturfing, yeah. It might start to happen more now with this new crowd moving in. They like to organize. There's always been some organization, of course, but most of what you'd call astroturfing has thus far come from the other side. Busloads of SEIU and ACORN soldiers coming in from other districts carrying manufactured signs. Ads on Craig's list for hired protesters - that sort of thing.

But no, overall, the impression is the townhall, and tea party guys have been relatively grassroots. Ed and Marge throw the kids in the car, and drive to Washington. Joe blow has a little news group, he contacts them, and says Meet you in St. Looey Looey. That sort of thing. That doesn't mean there aren't examples of astroturfing. Of course there are. But if you want to get into a posting contest to see who can find the most flagrant examples of astroturfing from the other, betcha I'll win.

I suppose that would be a good way of finding out which one of us has more time on their hands... and that's about it.

Well he has a point: the left is MUCH more organized. They know how to use the media to get their point to the public. They are used to organize (strikes, marches, gatherings, etc). For a lot of people on the left, it's their job to do that. (i know that we see that on the right too, like the populist right but it's much less)

It's their job to do that? You mean, like Glenn Beck?

Another example, folks, of why you should always think before posting.
