Interesting fact for all those anti Americans out there, they seem to be more involved in the democratic process than many other Western nations are. People are standing in line for 4-6 hours, according to reports. Yet Canada had its lowest turnout in history.
You have to register to vote, you have to wait in line for hours to vote, you can't vote if you've commited a crime and you have two parties to vote for that are virtualy identical on most issues.
What a victory for democracy that is.

It's funny to think about, but I can't ever recall a minority(racial) being elected to a leadership position anywhere in the world. I thought Europe might of had one but couldn't find one. Anyone know where this has happened before?
The U.S has had over two hundred years to elect a minority president. Swedens minority arrived just yesterday, in comparison, and most of them have little experience, if any, of democracy.

It might be called semantics, but if you had typed "a European Country", there would have been no issue.

Your kind of people lost tonight. Too bad, so sad. I already had my long dark night of the soul but it helped me because I came out of it stronger and was finally able to figure the big picture out. But I don't envy you for when your long dark night finally happens, because it's gonna be a bad one for anyone who posts musings about how some rednecks bullet can solve everything.
