Palin sticks to her guns after US history flub
Taseko Taseko:
We have Stockwell Day, the US has Palin. I wonder who is smarter?
By all reports, once he was out of the leadership spotlight, Stockwell turned out to be a very effective and well-respected MP. Still rather be stuck in a closet with Palin though.

They hold the same nutbar beliefs. For all we know so does Steven Harper, since he attends a church that does. So, cut Sarah some slack. Maybe she'll turn out to be a very effective and well-respected POTUS. Guess you never can tell.
Hate to disappoint all of you who are afflicted with PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) but Sarah is right on this one.
Paul Revere's legend is actually a tad overblown because he did not actually complete his 'legendary' ride. In point of fact he was, indeed, captured by British troops and when he was interrogated he told them point blank that they were going to encounter resistance at Lexington.
Even liberal Wiki supports Palin on this:

$1:
Revere was questioned by the British officers and told them of the army's movement from Boston, and that British army troops might be in some danger if they approached Lexington, because of the large number of hostile militia gathered there
Sarah got this one right and the a$$holes in the media got it wrong.

This is actually a perfect example of why Palin remains so popular among American rightwingers. They're never wrong, on anything, so her doubling-down on a greivous error and compounding it even further is not out of the ordinary either for her or for other contemporary Republicans of her ilk. Admitting an error would only be a display of weakness, which is definitely not allowed. What Palin's done here has gone exact to the letter of the current GOP playbook. Facts don't matter. Basic governance doesn't matter. Power, and only power, matters. If standing up and refusing to bend, even if it distorts and destroys a massively well-known and researched moment in American history, is what is required then Palin will do it. And if she can turn it into an opportunity to again blame the media and all those other non-patriotic intellectual sorts who clearly hate America, then it's all just extra fun for her.
Her trolls were actually attacking Wikipedia to alter the entry on Paul Revere just so it would match what Palin said. Damn all those rotten liberal history books and elementary school lessons and all, I suppose. With such a willingness to rewrite known history just to match the political needs of the current moment I'd have to say, especially for conservative ideologues in the United States right now, that there are a lot of Americans out there who really aren't that different from the good little Soviets around the world who specialized in doing the exact same thing.

Fact of the matter is that Revere was captured by the Brits and he did warn them of what was waiting for them at Lexington and then Concord. Personally, I'd like to think he was trying to prevent bloodshed but it didn't work out that way.
Paul Revere
himself backs up Sarah Palin.
http://www.earlyamerica.com/lives/revere/chapt3/Paul Revere Paul Revere:
Just as I reached it, out started six officers, seized my bridle, put their pistols to my Breast, ordered me to dismount, which I did: One of them, who appeared to have the command there, and much of a Gentleman, asked me where I came from; I told him, he asked what time I left it, I told him, he seemed surprised said Sr. may I have your name, I answered my name is Revere, what said he, Paul Revere; I answered yes; the others abused much, but he told me not to be afraid, no one should hurt me; I told him they would miss their aim. He said they should not, they were only awaiting for some deserters they expected down the Road.
I told him I knew better, I knew what they were after; that I had alarmed the country all the way up, that their Boats were catch'd aground, and I should have 500 men there soon; one of them said they had 1,500 coming: he seemed surprised and rode off into the road, and informed them who took me, they came down immeaditly on a full gallop, one of them (whom I since learned was Major Mitchell of the 5th Reg.) Clap (doug d) his pistol to my head, and said he was going to ask me some questions, if I did not tell him the truth, he would blow my brains out.

"[Revere] warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms. By ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free."
She's only "right" by accident, not because she actually knew that.

PALIN: He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.
Palin didn't bother to go into details, because she didn't know any details, as usual. All she did was bullshit her way through a question she couldn't answer. And somehow in the political/media system of the contemporary United States she actually ends up turning this into a victory, or at least it's now a win in the minds of those who worship her. Utterly baffling how this keeps happening with her over and over again. This Revere thing certainly isn't as bad as how she co-opted the Giffords shooting to turn herself into the real victim, but it isn't good either.
Screw my earlier reference to the Soviets. I don't think that a personality like Palin's has been seen for a much longer time, like going back to the days of Caligula.

She's not even right. She's mostly wrong. She gets 1/100 on the question, only 49% away from a passing grade. And shame on you, Bart, for suggesting otherwise.

WTF???????????
The Giffords thing went sideways when that asshat sheriff from Pima County decided to blame the Tea Party and the media went crazy about Palin's website using crosshairs on targeted political districts.
Palin defended herself from an utterly unfair and slanderous attack.
Thanos, get to the point: You want Palin dead, don't you?

And you can shove that 'shame on you' right back where it came from.

So Palin doesn't know shit about American history, you defend that, I call you on it, and you neg rep me for it? Wow. She was wrong, utterly wrong.

I'd like her to go away into the crossword-puzzle obscurity she fully deserves and to never come back. I fully believe that creatures like Sarah Palin are disgusting to their core and do nothing but perform massive and damaging disservice to the great country that you live in.
Maybe you should take the time to explain to the rest of us why you're so enthralled to this creature and why you apparently believe that her political rise is a good thing for your nation.
