This thread needs to die.
But the maroon part of me wants to see the insanity continue.
First of all, I cannot help but to say that "America" is a continental landmass, not a country. So "America" will not be annexing anything. Second of all, I can't imagine it really making much of a difference. With the representation the U.S Government would give the Canadian provinces in our government (Assuming they received the same right as U.S states), the shared language (For the most part) and our already extremely intertwined economies, foreign stance and histories it would probably be hard to notice anything had even changed.
I think Canada should Annex the US.
Merci beaucoup, Monsieur Canada....
I don't think either country is perfect, but I like parts from both constitutions. A hybrid nation with modified laws taking the best from both would be logical.
I still would like to see Canada annex the US. They could place the American Congressmen up in Churchill and give the polar bears something to eat or would that be cruelty to animals?
This is a silly conversation in the first place, and I don't even see why people waste their time imagining such things.
Screw the US. They have their own problems to deal with and I for one don't feel like contributing to the effort. I'd rather focus on making Canada a stronger, freer, richer nation.
Before the end of my life, Canada will have 50 million citizens living across an even greater stretch of its massive territory thanks to global warming. We're building something here, right way or wrong way, it's happening and I don't want to piss that away by inviting Uncle Sam to come and take over.
a typically narrow sighted vision. If the US collapses, Canada will be about 6 months behind, don't think otherwise or do you know of any other nation that does 85% of our total trade with???
