IMHO, Sarah Palin stands a better chance of being elected PM than Iggy does.

Give the pair of them a decent platform and good policies and Iggy will come out elected. Palin sounds like a braying donkey everytime she speaks.

It's not like they could stop us. So should we do it just because we can? I think their people would be more happy under US rule.
1. World news shows over and over how the US bullies countries into dependance on them through the world bank's rules.
Perhaps the US's most arrogant would feel happy bombing Canada into submission. Just like in Iraq, they could come up with some phony reason to invade and slaughter innocent people in their appetite for wealth and to spread their ideology of 'make me rich'.
So no, we probably couldn't stop the great might. Neither could we stop China if it decided to do so.
2. No. NOOOOO. Would it be right to invade any country just to enlarge its borders? Nazi Germany came up against the whole world on that one. It would be world war three, or more likely in the midst of ww3 when fewer nations would have time to notice or help us out. Evil never triumps in the end. America was based on being a God-fearing nation. That is only a thread anymore. God will not support and prosper them in evil. As you can see, the prosperity is going downhill along with the increase in the acceptance and embracing of evil.
3. To think that Canadians would be happier under US rule, underscores your lack of knowledge of the Canadian culture and way of life. We have universal health care because we care about everyone. We care more about everyone than we do about having more than anyone else or about being the best in the world or first or strongest. Peace, order and good government is the Canadian way which is quite selfless. The American way is Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, all very self-centered ideals. I think pursuing happiness has gotten a bit out of control down there!
It's interesting that the idea here is Anexxing Canada. Just like the media portrayed the invasion of Iraq as some sort of quiet salvation for the people, I can see that using the word Annex is just a ploy at making it seem ethical or in some way valid.
So to answer your question, no, we would not be happier. Are the American First Nations happier with you as their keepers than they were before you 'annexed' them? I think not!
I have had a very hard time not to yell and scream at the thought of such an idea as this which you have broached. But then, I'm a Canadian.
