Not I!
I'm not a hardcore socialist, but I like some aspects of social democracy.
Hmmm.....didn't know a jab had to be funny.....poor boy
I thought it was funny, QBC. Since he didn't think so, it got even funnier. When you put out the No Whining sign it became hilarious.
What do you consider a socialist, Libertarian? I have to ask because I keep running into people who haven;t got a clue what it means. A lot of them tend to have names like Libertarian, oddly enough.
Could you please tell me what you don't like about socialism?
I am curious. And if you are socialist, please tell me why. Have read one now say he is not a "hardcore socialist". I can only guess you are "softcore socialist"? Could you elaborate for me?
It all depends what your definition of socialist is, Libertarian.
We have a party up here called the New Democratic Party. They are a socialist party that believes in mixed economies and has done more to protect individual rights in this country than either of the parties that stand to the right of them.
They do not, contrary to the misrepresentations of the radical right, believe in communism or the state taking over all businesses or any of the other crap that gets spewed around about them. They do promote people over corporations though, and are strong believers in equality. In Manitoba and Saskatchewan they have consistently done a better job of fiscal management than the Conservative parties they took over from, and in British Colombia they have been no more incompetent than the various conservative parties they have alternated ruling with.
If that's your description of socialist, then I'm proud to be one. If you're one of those people who can't tell the difference between Tommy Douglas (Keifer Sutherland's grandpa, since you're American) and Lenin, then you don't what a socialist is and I'm still proud to be one.
I would be in the socialist camp.
