Dany was the best thing about GOT.
Here's the thing. Many Readers of Jordan dumped him and the HBO series. He made us wait 5 years for the book we all knew was written. How did we know he told us in the previous book that it was. Why did we have to wait again for 5 years for a book to come out? This time so he could cut his deal with HBO. F that Jordan I never bought another book nor followed the HBO series. So as a previous reader all you crying about the ending. BITE me. What did you expect after he screwed over the readers he and the script writers wouldn't screw over the HBO watchers. You don't like the ending go and write your own show.
Who's Jordan?
I didn't hate the finale nearly as much as I thought I would. I thought it would be another Lost. It's not there.
Actually it was clicking along pretty good until Jon all of a sudden says to himself,"I know. I'll kill Daenerys." It was like, "She's wearing black so she must be evil now." I heard myself muttering 'For fuck's sake' at that point.
But up until that point I was thinking, "Look at that. I think they might save this show."
At the end of the finale I didn't have that sinking 'waste of life portions' feeling I had after the last one though.
So yeah, it was OK, I guess. Better than expected.
Here ya go, Thanos :
Worst ending since "Dexter".
This basically sums it up for me:
For an audience likely numb from war, genocide, and betrayals of all kinds, Drogon offered one of the few genuinely emotional moments amid the rubble of both Kings Landing and character arcs. Sensing something amiss, Drogon rushed to the aid of his freshly assassinated mother. He cautiously approached and nuzzled her limp body, at first, gently and then with more urgency. His pain was palpable as he mimed a heart-breaking: “Mommy, mommy? Wake up!” In agony, he spews flames onto the vice that led to her death, the Iron Throne (which we learn is actually made of cheese. Whatever, I’m not crying, you’re crying!). He then sweetly lifts her body and carries her far away from that dark place, hopefully, to a happy land where they can both rest in peace, where there’s plenty of goats to munch and where character development still exists.
Like many viewers, I was disappointed by the writing in season eight—both generally, and by Daenerys’ sharp, poorly executed descent into tyrannical madness, specifically. As many have pointed out, her fate was well within the realm of foreseeable, given the foreshadowing comments throughout. But foreshadowing is not a substitute for character development. After following Daenerys’ evolution for eight long—and at times tedious—seasons, we deserved more insight into her transition from breaker of chains to burner of innocents.
But Daenerys’ character arc wasn’t the only victim of this whirlwind season. (Oh, Night King, what was actually up with you? And how did Jon turn into such a blubbering bimbo?) Perhaps the biggest betrayal to the audience was the void named Bran, an all-knowing, all-seeing, yet hardly speaking and utterly useless character. If he foresaw his election, did he also foresee Daenerys’ killing spree? Did he allow it to happen to take the throne? Are we really supposed to feel at ease with a stony ruler complicit in genocide? Meanwhile, Jon returns to the Night’s Watch (to do… whatever it is they do now), Sansa eschews her brother’s control (smart move), and Arya, I assume, is off to meet up with Frodo in the Undying Lands.
Oh well, at least Ghost finally got some much-deserved scritches from Jon at the end.

If I was rating series finales the GoT Finale would be better than Lost and worse than The Sopranos.
From the comments:
"More thought went into this than season 8"
BOOM!
When John killed Danny, why didn't he be like "Bitch, I'm Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhegar Targaryen. I am the true king of the Seven Kingdoms" to Grey Worm.
But I was happy to see John finally pet Ghost. That made me happy. Maybe John becomes the new King over the Wall, and maybe he'll rebuild Hardhome.
These would have been interesting finales.
