Ahh, the "northway". Spent a week there one night in '85 or '86. The place underneath the Domtar plant was another one, forget the name. Shit, I always liked Cornwall. My buddy has a cottage on "Pilon" island, we used to watch the Indi, I mean the smugglers, bring in the cigarettes @ three in the morning, smashed, on the speed-boats. OPP had NOTHING that could catch those guys! Cornwall is still a great town, RH, I'll be down in the next week or two...
I hate the town now, and am very happy here in Edmonton
Hate is a strong word, but I trust you're reasons. "SS" has a couple of buddies that have called Edmonton home for a long time, one here in Ottawa, for now....my favorite f*cking cousin calls Edmonton home, & Halifax (Dartmouth), & hell, I got family all over!. I still remember those photos, RH, of the "back-yard", one day its spring, the next day its JANUARY! LOL...
Do they still have those frigging sharp rocks on the ball diamonds in Cornwall? I played a little league tournament there in 1975(?) and for some reason instead of sand they had these knife-like rocks around the bases. Christ, my arms and legs are bleeding just thinking about it.
...nice to hear SOMEBODY remembers 1975 besides me,...
...tough town too, Rev, maybe they WANT their kids to hurt, get-'em-outta-there! LOL...

WINDSOR, Ont. -- The Canadian government was urged yesterday to file a formal protest with the U.S. after Michigan police officers stormed through customs and conducted a gunpoint arrest at a tunnel linking Windsor with Detroit.
Windsor New Democrat MPs Brian Masse and Joe Comartin told a news conference the incident amounted to a breach of Canadian sovereignty.
The two fired off letters yesterday to Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham and Minister of National Revenue Elinor Caplan calling for a public inquiry into the June 18 incident.
They also demanded that RCMP officers be stationed at Windsor's border crossings to improve safety and security for the public and unarmed customs officers.
Mr. Masse and Mr. Comartin said an incident Monday at the Ambassador Bridge in which a 22-year-old Detroit police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg while attempting to hide his gun from Canada Customs [
] is another sign of the dangers at the border and disrespect for Canadian laws.
Sounds like the cop didnt have a permit from the Canadian ATT, either....
(inside joke - )
I think we should just ban all professed gun owners from Detroit...don't let 'em in at all, apparently they are incapable of understanding the rules. (Response to inside joke)
Yeah, makes sense, send in the RCMP to babysit the UNARMED border guards, who are supposed to be defending our borders & sovereignity in Windsor. Ever laugh and cry at the same time?
...
Our border guards have done a decent job without guns so far. Ever notice that when you go into the States it's like dealing with storm troopers and when you come back it's like dealing with normal people, people whop assume you're a criminal, but normal nonetheless. Giving somebody a gun changes their attitude. I don't think people with that kind of attitude should be the first thing people see when they get to our country.
Too late to take on on all three of you, but something tells me "nonrev" has never "served" anybody but him/her self at an "all-you-can eat" buffet! As for Buford, why have a border at ALL, unless you can defend it?
...
Lookin' forward to it, Absolut; dont forget to bring a brain with you.
Cheers.
I have to wonder what would have happened if the RCMP had gone flying through the American Customs after somebody.
The Americans would still be screaming bloody murder, and we would still be waiting for the RCMP's bodies to be returned to us.
But has there even been a WORD about this from our valiant leader in Ottawa? Hell, no......
