I respect your opinion. I do. But you came here and you started bashing us for giving our opionon. Perhaps its just me or perhaps its that americans are more outspoken but that seems to be the fad of the day.
we didnt think you where right in bombing iraq illegally we said so and we where with your against you. Our politicians say their opinion and they have to appoligize.
I'm sorry if we got off on the wrong foot but I guess when someone tells me that I am wrong and they are right then that puts me on the defensive.

Your right it is elementary history. I learned about the states and canada in school. I suppose it seems that you dont know anything about it because you never hear about it yet we always hear how you saved our asses in WWII when in reality we were already winning. It seems that I was wrong. I appoligize for that. we should all learn about each other because we all have unique cultural differences and similarities and it is interesting to learn. It just seems that Americans know less about Canada then we do about you. I suppose it doesnt matter if you do learn about us nor does it matter if we learn about you. It just seems that we do learn more about you then you do about us. so to answer your question you should learn about us only if you want to. If not thats great but your question is answered.

It seems to me that two countries that live so close and rely on each other so heavly should get along better and learn about each other as much as they can. We ALL have lots to learn.

If you attack Canada how many of the soldiers in the US are actually Canadian? How many would kill their own countrymen? How many countries in the world would sit by and let that happen? NONE!
If I was a Canadian in the US and you attacked my country, I would either move home and take up the fight or get one of the many guns in your coutnry and start picking targets. Its not an easy topic to talk about seeing how our military is smaller has less money but is better trained.
Plus less people hate us.

Christ you change your name as often as most common criminals...I guess that makes you a likely candidate for Bush's cabinet. Piss off dude, you aren't wanted here...or anyplace else. Second of all...You want to know why you should learn about Canada, Killah? So you don't grow up to be like Wingnut. He knows little and understands less, not just about Canada but about what it means to be human. He's boorish, arrogant, and deceitful. He is about the ugliest American I've ever spoken to, and I've spoken to some ugly ones. You don't want to be like that.

Need more reasons? We are your neighbours, we are a democratic country, we are generally pretty open-minded (if you look up liberal in the dictionary you will find that it means open-minded). We don't lock people up for no reason and frown on sending people to a third country so they can be tortured. We are, politically, quite different from Americans but quite similar to much of the western world. We are diverse, intelligent, wealthy and just generally nice. We're tough too, though. We've shown that in a couple of wars and more than a couple of peace-keeping missions.
In short you should learn about us because there is a lot you can learn from us.

Of course he'll also tell you he has a permit from the "Canadian ATT" to bring a handgun into Canada, that there are vast forests in Greenland and that he "pays more in taxes than most people here make in a year." He also thinks that there's a conspiracy of left-wing scientists, likely communists, trying to steal his money or something. He's clearly delusional. :lol:

Of course there is no "Canadian ATT" and the trees in Greenland are almost as big as those south of Regina and,given the ample amount of time that Wingnut has to spend spewing his poison on the Internet, I doubt he has a regular job, never mind some vast business empire. If there was a vast conspiracy of left-wing scientists trying to steal his money, they'd very likely go hungry when they acheived their goal.

As for whether Canada is an important player on the world stage...maybe not as important as we could/should be, but we are important. We are active in peace-keeping. We spear-headed the international agreement against using land-mines. We ratified Kyoto in spite of the US's brutal decision to trade the future for a few quick bucks. We stood against the illegal invasion of Iraq. We stood up to the US on wheat and softwood lumber. We helped the developing nations of the world tell Bobby Zoellick and his counterpart from the EU to piss off in Cancun. Those are all pretty big things for an exporting nation with a relatively small population to do, but we did them. If we can Martin in line we can continue to do them. They are important things...things that make a difference...things that at least attempt to make the world a better place. Wingnut and his hero Georgie have stood against those things.

Be very careful of people like Wingnut and George Bush, Killah...they do not have your best interests at heart. All they care about is money. They are scum.

Wasn't so much interested in bashing anybody here Evan as much as I was trying to get Killah to understand what I said in my last post. I have a lot of friends in Canada...have dated several women over there (and in fact find them preferable to American women in most, but not all, cases) and I know that very few of them sit around and spit fire and brimstone at Americans. Rev's another story, but I won't get into that one. :wink:

Marlin, you know you keep foaming off at the mouth about your garbage...we don't take any from Saskatchewan. We are allowing your good people in Toronto to utilize an abandoned landfill in the northern lower peninsula, and the political fallout from that is gonna bring that arrangement to a quick halt here real soon. What will Toronto do then? I dunno...and neither do they. Typical of Liberal pols, they aren't even looking into the matter and won't until it all bites them in the ass.

I don't dislike Canada at all. I'm glad I don't live there for a number of reasons, most importantly the incrementally encroaching socialism and the confiscatory tax rates. I envy you your freedom from violent crime, but at the same time your police departments seem to answer to no one and there are constant stories of out and out abuse which either appear in our papers here or are found out by your people posting on bulletin boards such as this one. I spend a lot of time in your country, and I can tell you from living in a border area, a lot of you spend a lot of time in mine. There are arrogant Canadians in direct proportion to the number of arrogant Americans. If you'd visit other areas of the world, you'd understand that our border with you is a joke. There's a reason for that and I don't need to explain what that reason is. But please...don't try to convince Killah that all Canadians feel the way I've seen some of the responses develop to his questions. Crap like that being said to enough young skulls full of mush could eventually harm your economy, if you'll stop and think about it. Who wants to visit a place or spend money where they are so universally despised? Plenty of places to spend it right here, if that's the case. Think will ya?

And Reverend, I beg to differ... Greenland has a similar environment as Nunavut, where the trees don't grow any higher than 4 feet. South Saskatchewan, however, has some large trees.
