No. He's just going to prattle on about how all Canadian Conservatives love America and spend all their time there, while good Liberal Canadians all tend their rose bushes on Hornby Island while listening to the CBC.

because a conservative voter is less likely to hold a passport since Tory supporters are more rural, longer established in Canada and ,this is really going to upset you all, have less academic qualifications than liberal voters.
Oh.

Thanx for the clarity.

In an attempt to rise above my neanderthal rural roots, I'll leave out all the nasty names I was just thinking of calling you.

Oh, but I would like to add, that demographic you just slandered is the very reason you have a free society to say such ignorant things in, that demographic being the largest supplier of Troops and vanguards of your freedom. Not that I would expect an academic to get that.

But feel free to slag those that perpetualy put their collectives asses in foreign grasses so you can call them uneducated hicks.

I find it sad that you saw slander in his description.
Umm, lily, that was the politest way I have ever seen someone state that they felt that Conservatives are un or under educated, indicating that the followers of LPoC doctrine are somehow superior, because they see the world through academically enlightend eye, as we the unwashed masses are spoon fed thoughts by the CPoC.

It's an old piece of rhetoric, they oft use to tell us how they know what's best for us.

I find it puzzling how you can find sorrow in that, but hey, you are as entitled to your opinion as Icedcap.

Wow...You're a fucking idiot. (Sorry CDNbear, I couldn't resist).

Less academic qualifications? So we are stupid hicks who never leave their small town? That is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard in my life.

I am under no such restrictions.

That Liberals are sanctimonious and regard themselves as the vanguard of the intelligentsia was well known despite Icedcaps prejudices. That Liberals seek to divide the nation through multiculturalism, ethnic ghettos, equalisation programs and regional favouritism is only reinforced by his comments.

what the hell are you raving about, show me where I slandered anyone??? show me where I called anyone a Neanderthal or an Uneducated hick? seems to me you've got a pretty big chip on your shoulder there Bear.

Tricks @ Sun Mar 25, 2007 10:17 am

But it makes sense though. How often do we read about all the leftists at the universities?
All the time, but that's because Conservatives don't feel the need to act like pompous jackasses all the time. How's that for slander? So apparently I won't be going to university because I am a conservative from a small town of 110000 people and I am under-educated. What a crock of shit.

I grew up in a small town. It wasn't exactly rural, but I prefer that lifestyle over living in a city.
I've done both, I like aspects of both. Generalizing will get you no where.

Longer established in Canada - surely you don't object to that, not when a lot of Cons complain about immigration. (see GFPB's above post for example)
That's the only part I agree with.

Less academic qualifications.... academics isn't everything, Tricks. People with degrees are no better than those without.
Frankly Lily, I don't give a flying fuck what you say about degrees. His words are:

$1:
have less academic qualifications than liberal voters.

Meaning, are dumber and probably didn't finish school. Good stuff. Asshat.

You said either we are dumber, or don't have the work ethic to stay in school. Please expand on this one:

have less academic qualifications than liberal voters.

I said "less academic qualifications" I didn't say stupid, ignorant or uneducated, you conservatives can't have it both ways on the one hand you're always going on about the left-wing liberal stranglehold in academia but when I suggest that liberals have more academic qualifications than conservatives you suddenly get all insulted
and as for the rural thing tell me Tricks how many seats did teh Tories win in teh big cities and how many did the lLiberals/NDP win in rural areas?

Did you ever think it is because of the PROFS? Not the fucking students? The profs are the ones who are the liberals, not necessarily the students. For instance, my Dad has a Masters in business, and a bachelor in Science. But apparently doesn't have as many academic qualifications as a liberal right?

Did you ever think that maybe it's because the tories actually pay attention to them while the Liberals only care about places like TO?

What the hell do you have against people who didn't finish high school?
Nothing. BUT by how he phrased it, it seemed like that's what he was expecting conservatives to be like. And I take that as an insult.

don't be silly, you're jumping to conclusions believe me there's a world of difference between intelligence/work ethic and having academic qualifications. This has nothing to do with who stays in school, the fact is school dropouts are going to conservativbes or liberals because they don't vote

Tricks, Tricks calm down fella, I'm not attacking conservatives, of course there're right-wing academics who're much more qualified than the average liberal that's not the point besides the Sciences, Engineering and Business courses would in my opinion be much more balanced in terms of conservative/liberal students

obviously, all parties only care about where they can get votes.

just answer this simple question are rural voters, more or less likely to be conservative Yes or No
