There are parts of the US that the US army would have a hard time defeating.

True, but nobody with any sense tries to occupy a foreign country for any length of time anymore. You bomb the hell out of it, rush a different government into place, and leave. There are currently at least 9 countries that could do that.

I was kinda discounting nukes. I doubt the LAPD have those yet.

I would not be to sure that Pakistan could do it. Mexico MIGHT be able to do it to a few south and or central american countries but not all of them.

Oh, If we are talking just taking over ANY nation... Canada could so take on much of Africa and Central America/South America. One at a time. Probably even better.

Indelible @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:54 am

Indelible @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:57 am

it's not that.

read "shake hands with the devil"

also, realise that a large portion of africa's people are muslim.

Indelible @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:59 am

it would be suicidal

They are Muslim? So?

ANd that means what? Was that a racist-filled comment?

Indelible @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:21 am

no it wasn't at all.

given that we are currently engaged in fighting militant muslim extremism in the middle east, and not having hte easiest time with it, do you think that it would be wise to try and take on a continent awash in problems from old colonialism, civil war, starvation, hegemonies, disease, don't you think that radical islamist sentiment would also surface there as well, in response? (especially in northern africa). i know that your proposition wasn't serious, but the notion is ridiculous anyhow

Indelible @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:22 am

btw, if you read what i post here i am hardly a racist person.

Tman1 @ Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:23 am

You're from Lethbridge, of course you're racist...J/K

How is my old cowtown? Is Lethbridge Center still full of Hutterites?

Of course it is rediculous.

But I still think that atleast Canada could take on a 3rd world country. Possibly even a first World.

Cross off Japan, add North Korea and yes, France.
