Woohoo! Let's talk about things I hate!

Some songs I hate a lot

Figured You Out - Nickelback
Hash Pipe - Weezer (i love Weezer... but this song is a disaster. It doesn't deserve to be in this list of worst songs ever... but it's my way to tell them that their song sucks :))
Higher - Creed
Hard as a rock - AC/DC
Y'a une pie - Henri Des

Bands that I hate a lot

Nickelback, Creed, Metallica and all the other copycats
This has to be the less original music I heared since a long long time. Annoying virile voice, overproduced rock, lots of fur, no emotion, no hook, nothing... but still it sells millions.

Oh, and I also hate Gangster rap music as well as dumb pop ala britney...

Phew... enough hate for tonight

$1:
Jennifer Lopez - Get Right

That god-damned saxophone clip drills into my head like a tractor trailer backing up. Seriously, who decided this was decent for popular music?

How about that "Jenny From The Block" number? Shallow, egotistical, vain, smug, utterly gruesome. :x

WLDB @ Mon Jul 18, 2005 9:13 pm

Rap/Hip Hop/Dance/Techno. Anything in those categories are bad.

The Lumberjack @ Mon Jul 18, 2005 9:42 pm

How can anything compete with the Birdy song??

What about;

Shang-a-lang by the Bay City Rollers?

Barbie Girl - Aqua?

Anything at all written or sung by Barry Manilow?

Don't go breakin' my heart by Elton & Kiki Dee?

Joe Dolce's 'Shaddup You Face' ?

There are just too many to name............

I'm now prayin' that I don't go sleep with these horrendous tunes playing in my head; aaarrrrrrggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! [bonk]

lily lily:
Aw, c'mon, that song was funny!
But then, I was a kid when it came out. ;)

I'm over 40 (barely) and I'm not a Pink Floyd fan.

Worst song for me... Hey Jude by the Beatles. It gets a little tiresome after the 43rd time they sing Na na na, na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey Jude... especially after they start screeching.
Man what are you talking about?? We used to LOVE that tune.. it was slow and at the scholl dances we could get close etc....

ShepherdsDog @ Mon Jul 18, 2005 10:17 pm

98% of all (c)Rap music

How about:

Bigboy Bigboy:
Green is the Color!

Football is the game
We're all together
And winning is our aim
So cheer us on through through the sun and rain
Saskatchewan Roughriders is our name!

And a song I really hate:
Born to Run, Bruce Springsteen. Listen to this song, the man CANNOT sing. Worst song, worst singing EVER.

The Hoser @ Tue Jul 19, 2005 10:35 am

William Hung isn't a musician... He's a clown.

Mr.Brightside - The Killers, it is pretty terrible too... Anything off of Green Day's latest album.

The Hoser The Hoser:
I'm under 40 and I love Pink Floyd... I reject and hate all the crap coming out lately.

I never really knew the Hip as a bar band, I was first introduced to them as they are now, although I have heard, and loved, much of their old works. I still like their new albums.

Didn't mean to infer that being high when you're under 40 or not being stoned when you're sliding down the backslope gave you inside knowledge. It's just, when I was younger, Floyd just didn't hit a chord with me unless I had some synaptic enhancements running amok. My first time (getting stoned that is) was when a friend wanted me to hear "Dark Side,..". I remember the alarm clocks from "Time" seemed to go on for hours before the song proper starts. I remember not even noticing "Money" so much as hearing the clink of coins for the duration of that number. Now that I don't bother getting high anymore (been there, done that, what's next) I notice different stuff about those songs. I notice Water's words and the tone in which he delivers (forget grunge or the one-man-with-a-guitar stuff, Roger does disconnected, angst/resignation better than anyone) and I notice how Gilmour layers the guitar parts so that you don't even think of it as an instrument anymore (and how come he never seems to make those annoying "Best Guitarist Of,..." lists?).

As for most annoying/worst song of all time,... let me introduce to you, the one and only Terry Jacks [and the loathsome Poopy Family Band]. GAWD anything out of their catalog would qualify. Honourable mensch's to Dan Hill and Renee Simard. It seems, for every really great Canadian band of the seventies (and there were many), there was another that blew vivid green chunks. And I won't even mention most Canadian bands of the eighties except to point-out such super-dreck like Platinum Blonde, Paul Hyde and Alfie Zappacosta (UGHHH, I say it again, UUUGGGHHH!). Suffice to say, the eighties made me start listening to Jazz and Classical (nasty little habits which still persist).
