Finally, if you read "minimum one book a day" I suppose you shouldn't have so much time to devote to this forum.
When my kids were little, I read a book a day. Sometimes 2 or 3 if they were especially persuasive.

Curious George and the man in the yellow hat always had a soft spot in my heart.

I can only hope that more of the Canadian public is becoming aware of Liberal tactics - broken promises, loop-hole spending, cronyism, fraud, manipulations by and for the elite and, more influential than anything else.... their incredible, demonstrated capacity to Spin without remorse.
Plus - as they have also continuously demonstrated - they have no qualms whatsoever to building linkages to radical, conservative movements elsewhere... where there are none.
The last things on any Liberal agenda are the needs of Canadians.
The first thing is their own ideology - an ideology that, primarily, serves Liberals.

That's awesome. Reading with your kids is fundamental.
I'd dare say if there's anything Liberals and Conservatives should be able to agree on, it's that good parenting should begin in the home.
USCAdad USCAdad:
As a male primary care giver, I say screw you both.
Sooo!, from this statement are we able to conclude you are in favour of both traditional heterosexual marriage and same sex marriage??
I'm in favor of kids. As far as marriage goes I strongly prefer the government to stay out of religion and provide universal union licenses. It doesn't matter the gender or orientation of the parent as far as the kiddies go.

No, it says here is some money to help, you have a choice of how to use it.
fifeboy fifeboy:
No offence intended Tricks, but have you ever tried to pay for child care?
Tricks Tricks:
No. Because I don't believe in it. If you can't support the kids, don't have them! I am sorry, but that is the flat out truth.
fifeboy fifeboy:
I guess I did not make myself clear there , sorry. My comment is that the $100 being offered will do very little to assist parents who are trying to provide daycare for their kids. My wife and I raised 5 kids and found it very difficult, even with two jobs, to pay for good quality daycare. Now we are raising a grandchild and even though we do not need daycare with her, would be happier without the $100 (of which I will loose about 1/2 after taxes) Around here we call it "The Stevie Bribe." What parents need is good quality, available and affordable daycare.
Tricks Tricks:
No for fucks sake. Institutionalizing kids does nothing but screw with their head. It is the WRONG way to go. Sending your kid away ever day from it's parents will mess with their head and screw with them later in life. They need a mother with them.

I have to agree and besides we all know its the freinds of seven who double their profits , so whose better off with 2 parents working? ...fuck em the kids are more important and its only a decade maybe a decade and a half and then they can work until they are 100 years old . Either that or don't have kids period .

What a very interesting exchange!
I think it fully confirms my earlier post about the essential difference between a conservative and a Liberal. Conservatives believe that you take care of yourself or go f**k yourselves.
Liberals are more understanding. You can have kids and you can afford them, in different orders. Sometimes, when you have kids, you expect life to be better, their father (or mother,) to be there to help bring them up. You expect that your investments will pay for the costs, you can work only when you are free from family burders.
Things don't work that way. The future does not always be as bright as we think it will.
Conservatives say to single moms : 'Have yourself a merry Christmas!'
Liberals say: 'Merry Christmas, we'll make sure of that!'

Point well taken, Pluggy
But whatever the Liberals call the day, the fact remains that they will stand by every Canadian to make it a happy one.
Cons would say 'Do it yourselves, losers. If you are rich be merry, otherwise spend time thinking of the rich and their turkey lunches!'
Liberals love the people.

The Liberals couldn't even bring themselves to greet the worshipers of the single biggest religion in the country, in fact the whole continent, appropriately but Paul Martin could attend a Tamil Tiger fund raiser?
Spare me you’re empty words please.

Correction grass hopper the Liberals like to "Control" the people it's the socialist mantra. Frankly, I don't like to be controled by the brain washed masses who chant "It's the Govberments" job to feed, cloth, educate, and teach me how to be weak, lame and lazy. I work for a living, I don't sit on my sofa waiting for direct debit to pay me via the Liberals "Welfare Scam" Ya got a womb, a check for life ethos. I earn-ready for it grass hopper- "A pay check" and yes you to could also earn one if you got off your ass and became gainfully employed. Try it 4Iggy (not that Mr. Academia Iggy knows what that is) you, cough, might like it. Earning an income instead of expecting the Tax Payers to pay you to sit home and get obese whilst the rest of us pay you to do nil, zip, nada. Ah the Socialist Liberal way and I hate it. Cubian cigar anyone, no? Me either, it stinks and frankly it's so passe'.

I think you are confusing between socialists, which is the NDP and liberal, which is quite a different thing.
Incidentally, your Harper government has just announced half a billion dollars for free housing for the poor. Ask yourself why.
Being from the tribe of unwashed unread conservatives, I do not expect the following to make sense to you, but let us try. There is a website called global rich list, which you will find at the following URL:
http://www.globalrichlist.com/
You will find the website fascinating. For instance, consider that a person on welfare can collect about 400 dollars a month from the government. So that is about 5000 dollars a year, plus add another 5000 dollars by way of other services, such as medicine, schooling and subsidised housing.
a. Go to the website.
b. Change the currency to Canadian.
c. Punch in 10,000.
d. Click on 'Show me the money!'
The website instantly calculates and tells you that a person who gets that much is among the 15% richest people in the world!
a. If your theory is true, then not one single canadian should have bothered to go to work each day. Lazing around on welfare should be enough.
b. No one would volunteer for any social activity, let alone politics.
c. No one with rich parents should ever go to work.
I think human nature is quite different from what you say. People love to be productive and to give, rather than receive. We love being helpful, being charitable, to give gifts and to work without selfish interest.
People are good. Liberals believe that people are good.
Liberals love the people.

Well, scrappy made the mistake of calling me a grasshopper, and then proving to be unread (I might have imagined the stink of the unwashed, I agree

)
Why unread?
Because he/she could not differentiate state control of economic political and social systems, which is socialism or NDP, from social insurance and safety nets, which is Liberalism.
