What the heck a personal attack directed at a conservative supporter. Where's the outrage?
We're too busy laughing at him to be outraged.
Aren't you guys too?
Ya, I was just trying to make a point.
I'd definately agree, This latest wave of posters, right, left or CT are quite beyond the usual moonbat ranks. I'm still waiting te hear how the science of quantum physics is involved in Afghanistan.

Liberals say: 'Merry Christmas, we'll make sure of that!'
No they don't, they say "Happy Holidays" politically correct.
Just watch a little CBC.
Just to make a point here, I am a Christian, a Roman Catholic to be exact. Christmas is for me "The Holiday" for this time of year. I am not bothered at all by that expression. 600 000 Muslims and 300 000 Jews and various others religions are here with us in Canada, So give it a shake and quit worrying about "Happy Holidays." Besides, this can't be due to the ever evil Liberals because the same discussion is going on in the U.S. as well, unless you wish to include them in that evil liberal empire you rail against all the time.
Merry Christmas and a happy pagan New Year. Good Grief, my mother would be rolling over in her grave if she knew that that greeting she gave for so many years was not Christian.

Yes it is a pagan celebration (winter solstice).
But........
I will always say "Merry Christmas" and screw the wishy washy people whatever political affirmations they have, who will bend over backward to satisfy a loud minority.
"Rail?"
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Not to pick too fine a point, but who has actually heard Muslims in Canada complain about use of the term Christmas? The only ones I have heard complain are athiests (sp?).

As for the income trust promise, that was a mess that the Liberals created. Unfortunately, someone had to fix it, and Harper did. I suppose you would rather Harper had not acted, allowed large corporations to convert to Income Trusts, and cost the government billions of dollars in taxes. It would at least give the Liberal party an excuse to increase taxes, so that they can spend/steal it.
Furthermore, do you really want to discuss the litany of broken Liberal promises? How about the abolition of the GST? Just for starters.
Patrick Ross, if you check out Canadian Political records, you will find that Income trusts was not a Liberal creation, it was a combination of very valid Canadian Laws meant to avoid double taxation. It was devised by conservative lawyers to help rich people pay less tax, and does not really help the Liberal vote base. Of course, some of these tax avoiders are retired folks, and such, but Liberals have no love for Incomd Trusts.
Conservatives definitely love Income Trusts, though. It was one of Harper's SPECIFIC CAMPAING PROMISES. Harper wanted to convince rich people that he would protect their money from taxes by keeping and protecting income trusts.
Like all people who think the rich love them just because they love the rich, Harper was mistaken. He found that BCE and other giants were jumping in to take advantage of a Prime Minister sworn to work for the rich! The number of companies who lined up to avoid paying taxes read like a list of 1000 biggest canadian businesses!
Harper was in a jam. His job as a rich man's lover was to convince the Canadians that rich people cared for Canada, and would LOVE to pay taxes, but the Liberals, yadda yadda yawn.....
Instead of that, he found that the rich had financed him, helped him get power, and had actually set him up. Now they were cashing in a million, billion times their contribution!
Harper backed down from his election promise to protect Income trusts. In the process, like SSM, and equalisation payments, he convinced another group, the moneybags, that Conservatives are not really an alternative to Liberals!
But in the process, he also hurt pensioners and others.

Very good point. I've never heard someone of another religion complain, it's always the people with no religion at all.
I'm an atheist but I celebrate christmas like most christians...I just don't go to midnight mass
harper is indeed a major disappointment...he did break his promise regarding the gun registry

I doubt Dion is much better. When will we get a
real leader who will stand up for Canada and say no to the status quo, etc.

He's not done yet, Jeeze these Liberals are sure demanding considering every guy from their camp is a fence sitter and afraid to piss off one voter by making a decision.

What promise was that?
what promise was that?? he specifically promised that should his conservatives get in..say good-bye to the gun registry and it still hasnt happened..nor will it..and hwacker you say "hes not done yet"?...ok..when's he going to start? he said this fall he was introducing the bill to bring down the registry..nothing yet..and please keep in mind ive never voted liberal since i was 18 which is 27 yrs ago..and he cant use the excuse that should he introduce the bill the opposition will bring down his govt..there are a lot of liberals who oppose the gun registry(ralph goodale being one of them) and most of the ndp oppose it as well..its pretty sad..we have a very weak leader of the conservatives and now the new leader of the liberals is a french citizen...the ndp are actually starting to look very good now
Are you just slagging the tories or do you just want this topic advanced? Do remember that while the CPC were saying they'd fix the registry, the Libs were saying that they'd ban all handguns.
I'd agree that it has taken longer than I wanted too but there is still a lot of support because of the jobs it provides and the mental safety blanket it provides to fuzzy thinking lefties. I think you seriously overestimate the Liberals desire to remove any bureaucratic temple.
They removed the long-guns from the registry and have made substantial changes, at least on paper, to the way gun crimes are handles. Getting this through to judges is still the hard part.
Please feel free to vote NDP or whoever but I'd warn you that the NDP's opinion on this topic will be even worst.

Good vote ndp, one less in the liberal camp is a start.
they removed the long-gun registry? when??? i read the paper daily and saw nothing to that effect.and thats all i ever asked for..is to remove that part of the law.now as far as the liberals banning all handguns..heres what'd happened if they did..i personally know 2 gun collectors that would have their handguns get "stolen" in reality they'd be buried somewhere very discreet...better that happen then the govt steal their property...hell even when the liberals brought in the long-gun registry i know of a lot of people who acquired rifles and shotguns from people who werent interested in jumping through all the hoops just to retain them so what did they do? they either sold them under the table or just gave them away..ive reviewed the changes to the cfc and ive seen the same old bs..you need a license to purchase ammo, you must take a safety course in order to acquire a license, you cant lend out your guns to people who arent licensed..now as far as the removal of the long-gun registry? it doesnt appear thats been done..if fact they are requiring you to register your long-guns before the end of may/2007 under the "amnesty act"...this is all the same crap the liberals dumped on us..i feel harper has in fact broken his promise...requiring us to register long-guns by the 31/07/07 at the same time saying he'll abolish the long-gun registry..if legal bureacracy is a big problem regarding this matter...then he can rise to the occasion and eliminate it..it is a very tired excuse blaming courts..and i know everyone' going to tear a strip out of me for my beliefs on any govt but this is just how i feel...the liberals are no longer responsible for the gun laws now that theyre out of power..if harper does nothing to change these laws the responsibility is now his...the same thing is the usa..all bush supporters(go figure)claim clinton banned assault rifles..not bush..but has he repealed the ban? no...which now makes him the guilty party..and once again hwacker ive never been a member of the liberal camp and really have noway of proving that to you..you dont really have any choice but to just take my word in this matter
