You get treated quite well actually. Been around a big chunk of the planet, almost always in the company of Americans. Only assholes try and pick fights based on country of origin.

   

I as well have been to a good number of places around the planet, and have never run into any trouble for being an American. (Contrary to Canadian myth). As a matter of fact, kids seem especially fond of Americans. Maybe because they think we all have candy.

   

It's just down right resentment..don't take the shit kicking literally. Things have changed in the last 25-30 years..even wearing a cdn flag nowadays just doesn't bring a smile to the faces who are viewing it.
Had student exchanges back in 70's..had 20+ french students from france who for some reason loved cdn's but had nothing good to say about our neighbors..bad example being french students and all but the world's mentality towards the western world has changed..we are not the fun loving canucks of years gone by anymore....

   

When I didn't wear my team canada shirt while I was in India, I was heckled about being a war-monger. When I wore my shirt, people would walk right up to me and say: How are you today sir?



Trust me, it makes a difference.....And, pride is not an issue with the flag bearer at Torino. You would know that if you were smart.

It has to do with an old Olumpic superstition, so next time you wanna question Canadian pride, do some fucking research and get the story straight......

Do some travelling......go at first without wearing any Canadian apparel and wear western clothes and speak in English all the time. Then put on some Canadian apparel, and you will see the difference........

As I've already stated, I have done some traveling. I've never had any trouble for being an American.

I'm not sure why Canadians are so obsessed with this myth that when they travel they have the red carpet rolled out for them while an American would be beaten to a pulp and spit on? Generally speaking, if you are overseas and act respectful you are treated with respect. If you are a dick head you will be treated like a dick head.

I've traveled around the world for the last 18 years and I have never had to tell anyone that I’m Canadian to change their impression of me. The crap he is spewing is just that CRAP.

   

so the lesson here is, don't be a dick head. And Canadians stop being so patriotic its making the Americans sick.

geez .....I can never figure out why americans fly their flag in other countries . Its fucking annoying how often this action is seen and to me only represents a kick me in the face masocist persona . Its as senseless as a boy insisting he attends girlguides instead of boyscouts and the girls get sick of it . So you do business around the globe and maybe wave the flag as a gesture of freindship , but we all know thats just an excuse to pose as a reason excluding that most feel it contains domination principles.
As far as religion and patriatism and antisemetism goes maybe some of you should go read Einsteins quotes ( Quotes of Einstein) I chose him as the quote of choice because of the Jew/Germany combination . I think people put to much emphasis on defend the Jew 100% because if it creates so much trouble then why should we even go there and as far as being conservative lets just say that a renter in Israel who does not pay his rent goes to jail for 29 days and gets out for one day to find the money owed . At the end of the day if the money can't be found its back into the can for another 29 days .......this repetitiously . This is what makes people confused about the definition of capitalism I mean communism ...hmmm no I mean communism or is that capitalism or ........ I think you get the point .....
