Stephane Dion makes things up as he goes.

Better still would be to dump the CBC in its entirety and use the money saved for research into "clean" energy.

The CBC is a national treasure. It serves a great purpose, as a public watchdog whose approval isn't for sale like Canwest or the other conglomerates. It belongs to everyone, and no matter where you live in this great and vast country,
I'm talking the most northern (inhabited) corners of Nunavut' you can tune in to the service in English, French, or several native languages.
Every western country has a national broadcaster (except the US, but even they have NPR/PBS).
Only if you have satelite.
I can't get CBC without a dish in South Central Alberta.

You can get CBC Radio pretty much no matter where you live. CBC isn't just television. For many people in northern communities, CBC\SRC radio is their only news source.
Well unless you have sat dish or sirius you dont get it in northern Nunavut.

Well there are 17 radio and television frequencies (17 each) for CBC across the territory of Nunavut, so if you couldn't pick it up, you were either living somewhere no on else did, or you just weren't trying hard enough. My guess is the latter.
But you bring up another good point. When I lived in the States I was able to listen to the service either on Sirius (best product ever) or online. This was a real gift I felt, because even though I wasn't living in Canada, it still felt good to listen to Canadian programming.

oh,and theres no cell phones either....or roads.
Back to Dion, I'm not saying he would make the best Prime Minister, in fact, I don't even think he's been doing good enough job running his party. He was my candidate of choice during the leadership race, but now I know I was wrong. Dion's a great person to have on the Liberal team, behind the scenes. But he's a political scientist, not a politician.
What I don't like to see, however, are ignorant comments made about him, because whether you realise it or not, this country owes what unity it has left to his efforts both in his pre-political career, and during his tenure as unity minister. He's not a bad guy.
And I don't know how some people can't see that Harper lies through his teeth and how his team spins everything. They're almost shameless about their obvious theft of campaign techniques from the US Republicans. I watch the news and it's like déjà vu.

Well, kind of hard to build radio towers if you have to transport all the materials by snowmobile. LOL.

You should quit watching the news and start thinking for yourself thats the problem with most Canadians , thats also why they vote Liberal.

Do not accuser others of making ignorant comments, when you have the temerity to say the above (bolded).
Dion has shown the world (whatever his academic achievements) he has no clue, especially on foreign policy.

What's so ignorant about it? I was in the US during both the 2000 and 2004 elections, I watched the debates, the ads, and I voted. And now watching how the Conservatives play their cards is like déjà vu to me because I've already watched the Republicans use the same techniques. Luckily, Harper doesn't have anyone as good as Rove working for him, but they're getting better nonetheless.

..here!
ok, just a reminder, Dion is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. You know, the same Liberal party that wrote the book on attack ads. Don't you remember the "Harper eats KITTENS!" ads? And spin? Dear lord don't even get me started. Ya Harper’s team has played dirty but you have to admit Dion makes a pretty easy target. As far as “Harper lies through his teeth” I don’t know, I can fault Harper for a lot of things but lying? Compared to say someone like Martin perhaps. The man looks like a saint. A very uptight saint in a business suite with poor media relations but a saint nonetheless.

Uhh? Harper eats kittens? I suppose you mean the comment made by PC attack ads in the Ontario election attacking Dalton as a
evil reptilian kitten eater?
Perhaps you are referring to a number parody ads put out by pseudo CPC and non-political affiliated photoshoppers with to much time on their hands?
Either way, Harper is far more a liar then Martin was.
"we will not accept floor-crossers unless they face a by-election" ring a bell? A scant few minutes passed between Harper saying that and Emerson being accepted as the prodigal son.

Details, details ... come now, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by attacking poor Mr. Martin. I didn't say the Harper was squeaky clean. Ya he's flip flopped on a bunch of issue but no more than any other politician. Some have been for the good some for the bad. Can you honestly tell me that Martin or Chrétien didn't flip flop on any issues?
DerbyX DerbyX:
Uhh? Harper eats kittens?
I was making light of the "fear ads" put out by the Liberals in the past 3 or so elections. It's common knowledge that they did this because pretty much everyone made fun of them because they were so ridiculous . "Harper's Hidden Agenda" *da dumb dumb*, .. "oh honey, go get some popcorn quick!" Now granted Harpers ads against Dion are just as bad but Dion that poor man just walks right into them. It's comical and sad all at the same time.

*pretends like he's trying to ad something with his fingers then shakes his head* "Ya, Martin may have been a liar but Harpers a bigger one!" What the @*&# ? Sorry in my opinion if you were to ask me who would be more likely to lie to my face it would have to go with Martin hands down. Might have something to do with how Martin angled himself to replace Chrétien but that’s just me.

Hit a nerve did I?

I love it.
Harper flip-flopped on every issue he accused everybody else of flip-flopping. Now suddenly that Harper has been proven "as bad as" the politicians he attacked on that basis the best you can offer is what you posted???
I am emberassed for you.

Harpers hidden agenda?

You are so lost you haven't even found out Harper was "outed" by Tom Flanagan, his old campaign manager. I guess ole Toms book basically stating that a true con agenda
must remain a secret from the public until they win an election because the CDN public doesn't know whats best for it.
Fail and quite spectaculariliy.

Got both hands over the ears and you are flat on your back kicking your legs in the air throwing a tantrum.
You tried to smear the Liberals and you lost.
You tried to defend the CPC and you lost.
You tried to show you know anything about Canadian politics and you failed.
