Back to Dion, I'm not saying he would make the best Prime Minister, in fact, I don't even think he's been doing good enough job running his party. He was my candidate of choice during the leadership race, but now I know I was wrong. Dion's a great person to have on the Liberal team, behind the scenes. But he's a political scientist, not a politician.
What I don't like to see, however, are ignorant comments made about him, because whether you realise it or not, this country owes what unity it has left to his efforts both in his pre-political career, and during his tenure as unity minister. He's not a bad guy.

ok, just a reminder, Dion is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. You know, the same Liberal party that wrote the book on attack ads. Don't you remember the "Harper eats KITTENS!" ads? And spin? Dear lord don't even get me started. Ya Harper’s team has played dirty but you have to admit Dion makes a pretty easy target. As far as “Harper lies through his teeth” I don’t know, I can fault Harper for a lot of things but lying? Compared to say someone like Martin perhaps. The man looks like a saint. A very uptight saint in a business suite with poor media relations but a saint nonetheless.
But we aren't talking about Martin, we're talking about Dion. And putting the two against one another, I have to say that Harper is the bigger liar. I think the fact that Dion doesn't lie enough (or at least well enough) is probably his biggest fault.
That's the biggest irony of politics. We despise politicians for being liars, but w really despise them when they don't lie well enough to make it seem like they're not lying.

Perhaps you are referring to a number parody ads put out by pseudo CPC and non-political affiliated photoshoppers with to much time on their hands?
Either way, Harper is far more a liar then Martin was.
"we will not accept floor-crossers unless they face a by-election" ring a bell? A scant few minutes passed between Harper saying that and Emerson being accepted as the prodigal son.

Well I have to admit your right about making comparisons to between Dion and Martin.
It's a pretty sad commentary on our political system when we're sitting here debating who lies more and who's better at it
One thing that i think can be said though is Dion really hasn't had much support from his party. I think that has to be factored in when looking at his success. There all ways seems to be someone trying to position themselves ahead of him. It's too bad really because Dion is a pretty good behind the scenes kind of guy or a good candidate for a higher cabinet post. In the end by not giving him the support he needs the party is really just hurting itself in the long run.
