BRAMPTON, Ont. (CP) - One of the suspects in a Toronto terror plot is accused of wanting to behead Canada's prime minister, his lawyer said Tuesday.
Lawyer Gary Batasar says the allegations against his client are very serious and include his personal threat against the prime minister.
Steven Chand is also accused of plotting to storm and bomb various buildings, he says.
Chand is among 17 people accused of plotting to stage a massive terrorist attack in southern Ontario.
Fifteen of the 17 people facing charges are in court today.
Family members who arrived to support them were met by a horde of media from across Canada and the U.S.
"The allegations... are quite serious, including storming and bombing of various buildings," Batasar told a crowd of reporters outside the Brampton, Ont., courthouse.
"There's an allegation that my client personally indicated that he wanted to behead the prime minister of Canada."

I just don't get it. What is so wrong about wanting to behead Prime Minister Harper, sound like a plan to me.
I am sure half the Liberals in Canada wouldn't have much of a problem with it.

Agreed it's not funny when Terrorists want to kill you're Leader. That Video capture is also not funny as that's the Video from the 1st taped beheading in Iraq..

To be honest, beheading Harper wouldn't have accomplished a thing anyway, if that's what they thought it would do. Minority govt folks!

Well...some people use humour as a defence mechanism. Maybe they're so distraught at the thought of our Prime Minister being under threat that they can't do anything but laugh about it since it would just send them down a spiral?

O I C. As much as I dislike Chretien, and Paul Martin after him. I would never joke about them having thier heads cut off. It's inhuman. Not that I'd expect much from those two anyway.

I'm interested in seeing how this will play out in the papers....everything is only allegations right now. But if the PM was under threat of being beheaded, surely they (the rcmp and special forces) would have nipped this in the bud months ago, and not have held off as long as they did...they waited until they couldn't wait anymore.

He's a Muslim convert originally West Indian Hindu I'd guess
