Hi, im Quebecers-haitians ( lol ) so my english will be bad. and i know its a fuckin long message lol.
I don't want to "trash talk" because it's will maybe the first time that i will that to " true canadians" Because here... lol i dont think that the french-federaliste are " true canadians ". So england controled all the nord america. And someday, before the independant wars start, a guy went in Quebec from angland ( Lord Churchill ), before we had many fight between french and english. And if the Non win... 49% of the people are mad and deprimate... So we must redo it when it too close !! The last, 20 000 People decide the fate of Quebec... its too fuckin close !!! lol.
And i find that, in quebec.... we have "proundness", but in fact, we got only hope... We act like a coutry ( Our minister when to Rome for see the Pope funeral... I find that not fear for Newfie ( i like newfie !! they drink more then us !!! lol ) and other province. Jean Charest went to ONU. We act like one, but we are not lol.

Im souverainiste, but i have a little bit different vision of a new Quebec. I want us to be a Neutral country ( like Swenden ( Suisse ) and other ). We will had an army, but just for defence, we cannot bright weapon to other country. And we could make a Nord-America Money !! With Quebec, Canada, USA, and Mexico. I'm nearly 25 years old. I've lived in Ontario, specifically around Toronto in the almighty 905 blue belt for most of my life...

1. Quebec is a distinct society and should have been recognized as such. A society reveals itself through its pop culture and Quebec's is if nothing else, distinctive from the rest of Canada's

I am not one of the fools who spout off that "My Canada includes Quebec" This invites the legitimacy of what amounts to ethnic nationalism, which ALWAYS, regardless of intentions results in totalitarian regimes. Rather, I would say that my Quebec includes Canada. This country is a woven fabric, a construct, made from borders that are highly arbitrary, and consciously so. We are NOT a Union, but a confederation of regions that have decided to pool resources. We have acknowledged our differences from the birth of this nation-state as a Dominion. To say that that whole includes Quebec is a lie. that whole exists in name only, the word is meaningless because it hints at the existence of a Canadian Union that has never existed. Hence, for me to say that my Quebec includes Canada is to say that as a resident north of the 49th parallel, my home is just as much in Montreal as it is in Vancouver or Calgary or Yellowknife. My vision of Quebec is therefore inclusive of ethnic, social and regional difference. This whole distinct society talk is really a non-issue. If we really accept that Quebec is a distinct society then I have a few more for you.
Maritimes- different lifestyle from the remainder of Canada, very low key, primarily fishing and coal driven industries
Ontario- thinks the sun shines because it wants to, thinks Canada ends at the Ont-Man border
Man-Sask -hard working mainly farm driven industry, take HUGE pride in surviving their winters
Alberta- does not trust the east/Liberals, lots of oil and gas money
BC- peace love and granola anyone? :lol:

Territories- frozen wasteland

Obviously done a little tongue in cheek, but with a little more in depth homework any of these areas could rightly make a case for distinct society. Quebec just seems to want a monopoly on the term. I guess all the liberal sponsorship kickbacks weren't enough for the separtists in the crowd.

I feel quebec should suceed from Canada and form their own goverment. Its three hundred years in the making. like Nike say " just do it"!

2c, of all those areas, the only region that might have such a claim is a small portion of the Maritimes, specifically Acadians. Difference is steeped in discourse, not land; in language, not territory.

So Bill the only way to be distinct is to speak a different language, that is without a doubt precisely what I would expect from someone from "the centre of the universe".

The average person in Toronto brings the rest of the countries derision towards them just by their asinine behaviour. Think back a few years when they got a little snowstorm and actually wanted to call out the army to help shovel snow! Imagine that, snow in Canada!
