The Liberal "Adscam" has resulted in a large loss in credibility for federalism in Quebec. It's probably too early to measure the full impact of the scandal but it looks like support for independence might get a big boost out of this and the possibility of a "Yes" vote in a future referendum seems to be increasing as well...
How should Canada prepare for this? Should we begin plans to partition Quebec in the event of a "Yes" vote? Is partitioning Quebec even worth the trouble?
If you feel that Quebec should be partitioned, which territories do you believe should remain in Canada?
This topic has the potential to be explosively emotional so I was hesitant to post it, but I think it's relevant and hope that it can be discussed/debated in a reasonably civil way; let's not give the mods a headache!

Im quebecers, and i dont understand partition lol.
But if we separate, i think that we will us just the territorie of the provincent of quebec now. I think that we will not ask more, the Labrador will stay with the Newfies. ( i like newfies, they drink more than us !! lol )
We will just need to decide about the "douane" pay tax border ( i dont know how to said it ), and the money. We could use a new, nord-america money, with canada, quebec, usa and mexico. We will be stronger, and maybe equal to the Europe. We suck compare to the Euro.
We need to decide the "dette", we will take us part, and that's it lol. You will take ur troops, and we will probably be a Peacefull country, a hope that we will be Neutral ( we have not the right to bring or allie to country who want to make wars, but we need a army to protect ur self ). So i think that will be a easy broke up.

Quebec should get the province of Quebec.And they leave with the shirts on there back and a bill for their share of the national debt.
I donot think it will be as easy as they think.They will need new money,passports,stamps,etc,etc,etc.Plus having to get along without money from Ontario and the other "have"provinces.I think it will be a hell of a shock.

lol we lost 2 Billions$ !!!! from Ontario.. We pay 2Billions for being canadians :S.
And we will not break up the commercial exchange! lol. And I am for to us the same money then you. A Nord-American money could be great ! Canada, Quebec, Usa and maybe Mexico !! Ur money will be strong, we could equals the Euro !
I am for a "right of passage" for quebecers and canadians, like when u show ur canadians or quebecers passport, u pass faster or have no trouble.
But i understand now what is partition, and we should have the province of quebec, nothin more, nothin less. But a "right of passage" would be great !

This is a highly dubious statement. The federal government regularly puts about 4 billion dollars more into Quebec than it collects in taxes from the province.

If we have ( Canada and Quebec ) the same money AND the right of passage ( like a fast accesse and no tax on coutry border ) . Are u ok with that? Except touriste will not have this right of passage, they will have to pay and check up

The liberals agree with the "désiquilibre fiscal", it's affirm it. ur Ex-minister of finace affirm that we lost 2billions dollars in 2004 from the Canada. He get fired about he said that, and because he doesn't want to low taxe, because we are in deep shit here.
